TYPIST IN THE GOVERNMENT SERVICE
Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to
posts of Stenographer and Typist in the
Government Service.


Qualifications
(a) Stenographers Applicants
should possess a G.C.E. '0' Level pass
in English Language plus Certificates
from a recognized Secretarial Train-
ing School, stating ability to type
accurately at 40 words per minute to-
gether with a shorthand speed of 80
words per minute.
(b) Typists Applicants should
possess a G.C.E. '0' Level pass in
English Language, plus a certificate
from a recognized Secretarial Train-
ing School stating ability to type
accurately at 40 words per minute.
Salary
(a) Stenographers in the scale
V38-21 $1,800 x $120-$2,520 x $180
-$3,420/3,600 x $240-$4,800.
(b) Typists-in the scale V38-27
$1,800 x $120-$2,520 x $180-$3,420.
Point of entry into the salary scale
will depend on qualifications and ex-
perience of applicants.
Bonus increments will be awarded
as follows:-
1 increment for each approved
G.C.E. '0' Level pass in addition to
English Language
1 increment for typewriting speed
of 50 words per minute

TENDERS FOR INSURANCE OF
GOVERNMENT OWNED
MOTOR VEHICLES

Tenders are invited for the Insurance
of Government owned Motor Vehicles
from the 29th April, 1972 to 30th April,
1973.
The number of vehicles for which in-
surance is required is approximately one
hundred and thirty (130) and tenders
should include quotations for insurance
against-
(a) Third Party Risks only
(b) Third Party Fire and Theft.
The list of vehicles and insurable
value of each may be obtained on re-
quest from the Accountant General.
Sealed tenders addressed to the Chair-
man, Central Supplies Tenders Board,
Ministry of Finance, Kingstown and
distinctly marked on the envelope "Ten-
ders for the Insurance of Government
Owned Motor Vehicles." will be re-
ceived up to 3.00 p.m. on Wednesday,
12th April, 1972.
The Government does not bind itself
to accept the lowest or any tender and
reserves the power of accepting any
part of a tender.

POLICE NOTICES

GENERAL ELECTIONS

The attention of the general public is
drawn to Section 57-Sub. Sections (1)
(2) and (3) of Ordinance No. 13 of
1951 in respect of sale of intoxicating
Liquors.

(1) No intoxicating Liquor shall be
sold, offered for sale or given away, at
any premises to which a Licence issued
under the Liquor Licences Ordinance
applies at any time between the opening
and the closing of the poll on Polling
Day.

(2) No intoxicating liquor shall be
supplied to any person at any premises
to which a licence issued under the Reg-
istration of Clubs Ordinance applies, at
any time between the opening and the
closing of the poll on Polling Day.

(3) Any person who contravenes any
of the provisions of either of the two
preceding sub-sections shall be liable on
summary conviction to a fine of five hun-
dred dollars or to imprisonment of six
months.

GENERAL ELECTIONS
7TH APRIL, 1972

The attention of the general public is
drawn to Section 71 Sub. Section (1)
(2) and (3) of Ordinance No. 13 of
1951.

(1) Subject to the provisions of sub-
section (2) of this section during the
hours when the poll is open upon elec-
tion day, no persons shall assemble or
congregate within one hundred yards
of any building in which is situate any
polling station.

(2) This section shall not apply:-
(a) to any electors who are waiting
to poll their votes at such poll-
ing station and who obey any
instructions which be given
by the Presiding Officer or any
Constable for purpose of form-

ing a queue with other electors
also waiting, or
(b) to any person who may under
the provisions of the Ordinance
lawfully enter or remain in
such polling station.

(3) Every person who contravenes or
fails to comply with any of the provi-
sions of this section shall be guilty of an
offence against this section and shall be
liable on summary conviction therefore
to a fine of two hundred and forty dol-
lars or to imprisonment for six months
or to both such fine and imprisonment.
