(No. 22 of 1946).

IN THE MATTER OF THE ACQUISITION by the Governor of a certain
parcel oi land at Union Island.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND

(FIRST PUBLICATION.)

AWHEREAS it is enacted by Section 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
1946 (No. 22 of 1946) that if the Governor considers that any land should be
acquired for a public purpose he may cause a declaration to that effect to be
made:
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor that the undermientioned
parcels of land should be acquired for a public purpose, to wit, the erection of
a relay station for Cable and Wireless, West Indies, Ltd.
Now IT ThI HEREBY DECLARED by His Excellency the Governor acting in
accordance with the advice of the Cabinet or Saint Vincent that upon the
2nd Publication of this Declaration in the Gazette all that prmrel of land at
Union Island iii -he parish of the Grenadines shall vest absolutely in the Crown.
AND IT Is FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that a -Plan bearing the
Number GR 2/22 showing the above mentioned parcel of hlnd has ibeCn prepared
bv Clifford E. R. Williams Licensed Land Surveyor and lodged on the 10th
day of August, 1970, at the Lands and Surveys Department of Kingstown in
the State of Saint Vincent and can .be inspected at all reaslinable hours at the
said Department.

PRACTICE OF SOCIAL WORK
UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES-
MONA, JAMAICA

The Extra-Mural Department of the
University of the West Indies is offering
a four-months' course in the Principles
and Practice of Social Work at the
Social Welfare Training Centre, U.W.I.,
Mona, from January 11th-April 30th,
1971.
The course is designed to meet the
needs of persons working in the broad
field of social welfare, with three or
more years experience but without pro-
fessional training.
The University is offering a number
of full scholarships for the course, cov-
ering return passage to Jamaica, sub-
sistence allowance, course fees, cost of
books and field work expenses.
Applications, on Form T1 should be
submitted to the Chief Personnel Officer,.
"for the attention of the Training Of-
fleer", by September 17th 1970.

IIIGIIWAY CODE


A number of copies of the British
Highway Code is now available for sale.
It is appreciated that a number of
points listed in the Code is not appli-
cable to St. Vincent but the majority of
these can be of immense value to the
drivers in the State and in the absence
of a local Highway Code this will be
used in the State.
It is proposed that in future all driv-
ers will be examined on the basis of the
Highway Code.
The price of the Code is 50 cents each
obtainable at the Inland Revenue Office.
All drivers -younu and old are
strongly advised to obtain copies.
