Salary-
In the Scale AD2: $4,704 x $180-

Duties of Post-
The duties of the post will involve the
administration and general supervision
of Government Departments in the

Southern Grenadines and such other du-
ties as may be assigned to him from time
to time.
The officer will be under the control
of the Permanent Secretary, Premier's
Office.
Qualifications-
Applicants must:
(a) be confirmed pensionable officers
of not lower than the Executive
Grade, and
(b) have satisfactory records of ser-
vice.

NOTICE
TRAINING IN SECRETARIAL PRACTICE
Government has agreed that the Mar-
riaqua Secondary School should be 'used
itn 'future for training in Secretarial
'Practice. As a result it is proposed to
attach seven (7) Government'employees
for Training as under:-
(h) -Three (3) in Sccretarial Art-
This course will be for three
months, and the following sub-
-j'ects will be covered:-
Gregg Shorthand
Typewriting
Business English
Business Maths
Office Practice
Trainees will be expected to
graduate with a Shorthand speed
of at least 80 w.p.m. and a Typing
speed of at least 35 w.p.m.
(b) Four (4) in Office Arts-This
course will also be for a period of
three months, and the subjects
covered will be:
Typewriting
Business English
Business Maths
'Office Practice
Trainees will be expected to
graduate with a Typing speed of
at least 30 w.p.m.
2. The Course will be full-time, from
9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. daily, Mondays to
Friday. The Saturday half-day will be
given for revision.
3. Grooming, Poise and Public
Speaking will form part of the Train-
ing.
4. A monthly allowance of $10.00 will
be given to each trainee who lives out of
Mesopotamia for bus transportation.
5. Trainees whose attendance and
punctuality are not satisfactory 'Will be
withdrawn from the Course.
6. Requirements for attachment to
the Course are:-
(1) in the case of the Office Arts
course a G.C.E. '0' Level certifi-
cate in English; an 'O' Level
certificate in Maths will be an ad-
vantage.
(2) in the case of the Secretarial Arts
course, a G.C.E. 'O' Level certi-
ficate in English and a typing
speed of 30 wv.p.n.; preference
will 'be given to applicants with
a credit in English.
7. Applications are invited, on 'Form
T1, from suitably qualified persons in
the Government Service. These should
be in the applicant's own handwriting
and should be forwarded through the
'Head of 'Department. Proof of qualifi-
'cations -should be attached. The appli-

TION FOR REGISTRATION OF
U.K. PATENT NO. 1,092,393
In accordance with the requirement of
Section 3 of the Registration of United
Kingdom Patents Ordinance Chapter
156 of the Revised Laws of St. Vin-
cent, 1926, Notice is hereby given that
an application was made on 26th day
of November, 1969, by CROP 'CUL-
TURE (OVERSEAS) LIMITED, (a
Limited Liability Company incorporated
in the United Kingdom), of Bembridge
Airport, Isle of Wight, and RICHARD
CHARLES YOUNG (a British subject),
of c/o Crop Culture (Overseas) Ltd.,
8 Hope Road, Kingston 10, Jamaica,
through Messrs. Lysaght & Co., C/o
Barclays Bank D.C.O., Kiingstown, for
the registration of a Patent in respect of
an invention in relation to "Treatment
of Fungal Disease."
Any person may, at any time within
TWO MONTHS from date of such ad-
vertisment give notice to the Registrar,
of opposition to the issue of a certificate
of registration upon any of the grounds
prescribed by section 27 of the Patents
Ordinance (Cap. 155) for opposition to
the grant of Letter Patent.
The relevant sub-section of section 27
of the Patents Ordinance referred to
above reads thus:
"27(1) Any person may, at any time
within two months from the date of the
ad\vertisment of the acceptance of a com-
plete specification, give notice at the
Registry of Patents of opposition to the
grant ni the Patent, on the ground of
the applicant having obtained the in-
vention from him, or from a person of
whom he is the legal representative, or
on the ground that the invention has
been patented in the Colony, on an appli-
cation of prior date, but on no other
ground."

MOTOR VEHICLES AND ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT)
REGULATIONS.
(Gazetted 16th December, 1969).
1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles
and Road Traffic (Amendment) Regulations, 1969, and shall be read as one
with the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Regulations, 1959 (S.R. & 0. 1959,
No. 35) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations) and all amend-
ments thereto.
2. Second Schedule to principal Regulations amended. The Second
Schedule to the principal Regulations is hereby amended by deleting provision
(2) of the "Provisions to be compiled with" and substituting therefore the
following:-
"(2)(a) The background of the plate shall be black and the letters
and figures shall be white; or
(b) (i) Front plate-The background of the plate shall be white
(luminous) and the letters and figures shall be black, and
(ii) Rear plate-The background of the plate shall be yellow (lumin-
ous) and the letters and figures shall be black."
Made by the Governor under section 78 of the Motor Vehicles and Road
Traffic Ordinance, 1940 (No. 20 of 1940) this 15th day of December, 1969.
