Applications are invited from persons
holding a Diploma in Draughting and
Estimating-or other equivalent quali-
fication, for appointment to the non-
pensionable post of Chief Draughtsman/
Estimator, Public Works Department,
Ministry for Communications, Works
and Labour.
The Salary Scale of the post is-
$3,984 x $180-$5,244 and the com-
mencing point therein will depend on
the qualifications and experience of the
successful applicant.
The duties of the post include re-
sponsibility for the proper running of


the Estimating and Drawing Division
of the Public Works Department and
the control of the Staff; preparation of
plans, estimates and Bills of Quantities
for building projects, supervision of
construction work in the field, and any
other duties of a similar nature which
may be assigned to the holder of the post.
Quarters are not provided.
Transport Allowance is payable in ac-
cordance with local regulations.
Applications in writing, accompanied
by proof of educational and technical
qualifications, and three (3) testimo-
nials, should be addressed to the Estab-
lishment Officer, Establishment Division,
to reach him not later than 22nd Octo-

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for the vacant post of
Medical Storekeeper, Medical Depart-
ment, in the Ministry of Education and
Health, in the salary scale (HT 1-2)

in cases where a shorter period is re-
quired to complete the programme for
which the award is granted.
Each scholarship covers expenses for
travel, living and study during its ten-
Iure.
Successful candidates must give an
:udertaking to return to St. Vincent at
the end of their scholarship period.
Applications must be made through
unit Governments in septuplicate, and
on prescribed forms available from the
Training Office, Kingstown, St. Vincent,
from which further information on
these scholarships could be obtained.
Applications must be forwarded to the
Training Office not later than 31st Oc-
tober, 1969. Applications that are in-
complete or are not supported by the
required documents will not be enter-
tained.

Vincent Automotive Credit Co-opera-
tive Ltd. for the storage of Petroleum
Product,;.

POST OFFICE NOTICE


It is hereby notified for general infor-
mation that a (3) three-values set of
postage stamps, to commemorate St.
Vincent's attainment of Statehood, will
be released for sale on Monday 27th
October.

The Designs are:-

4 cents:-The crest of St. Vincent
mounted on a navy blue flag.

10 cents:-A battle scene with Caribs
and early settlers. The head of
the Carib Chief, Chatoyer,
killed in battle in 1795, appears
in the top left hand corner of
the stamp, opposite a Carib pe-
troglyph shown on a stone at
Barrouallie.

50 cents:-The Court House with (in-
sets) a mace denoting Parlia-
mentary Government and the
scales of a balance for Justice.

The G.P.O. in Kingstown and the Dis-
trict Post Offices at Port Elizabeth,
Bequia and Clifton, Union Island will
be opened for sale of Postage Stamps
and Official First Day Covers only, be-
tween the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 noon,
on the day of release, but the stamps will
be on sale for a period of (3) three
months or until stocks are exhausted,
whichever is the sooner.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance 1946
(No. 22 of 1946) that if the Administrator in Council considers that any land
should be acquired for a public purpose he may cause a declaration to that effect
to be made.

AND WHEREAS by declaration published in the Gazette on the 29th April
and 6th May 1969 it was declared that the said parcel of land at Hopewell in
the parish of Charlotte the property of Gerald Miguel measuring 3 Acres 0 Rood
0.5 Pole in area and bounded on tih North by lands of Ellen Foy. On the
South by remaining lands of Gerald Miguel and lands of Eursley Homer. On
the East by a stream and allotments shown on PLAN C4/46. And on the West
by a stream, was required for a public purpose and should vest absolutely
in the Crown upon the Second Publication of lhe said declaration to that effect
in the Gazette.

AND WHEREAS it is further declared and notified that a plan of the
said land bearing the number C 335 and prepared by Karl E. V. John, licensed
land Surveyor was lodged for inspection at all reasonable hours at the Land and
Surveys Department of Kingstown in the Colony of St. Vincent on the 22nd
(lay of March 1969.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section 7 of the Bank Holidays Ordinance, Cap. 161, it is
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Administrator in Council from time
to time by Proclamation in the Gazette, to appoint a special day to be observed
as a Bank Holiday throughout Saint Vincent.

AND WHEREAS it is fitting that two days should be set apart for the cele-
bration of the attainment by St. Vincent of the status of an Associated State
under the West Indies Act, 1967, with effect from the 27th day of October, 1969.

Now THEREFORE, I, Hywel George, Administrator in and over Saint Vincent,
in accordance with the advice of the Executive Council and pursuant to the
authority vested in me by the said Ordinance, do hereby appoint each of the
days Monday, the 27th day of October, 1969, and Tuesday, the 28th day of
October, 1969, to be observed as a Bank Holiday throughout Saint Vincent.

GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of Saint Vincent at Government
House in Saint Vincent this 9th day of October, One thousand
nine hundred and sixty-nine and in the Eighteenth Year of the Reign
of Her Majesty QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND.
