shorthand (100 w.p.m.) and typewriting
(40 w.p.m.).

OFFER OF PLACES IN THE
UNIVERSITY OF GUYANA
DIVISION OF
TECHNICAL STUDIES

The Government of Guyana has for-
mally conveyed an offer to accept stu-
dents from CARIFTA territories to
take courses leading to the higher tech-
nical diploma in the Division of Tech-
nical Studies at the University of
Guyana. It is intended that students
accepted as a result of this offer should
pay the normal tuition of G$108 a year
and be responsible for their maintenance
and other expenses. It must be strongly
emphasized that this is not an offer of


scholarships or any other award.
2. Further particulars about the ob-
iec:t of the course and the entry condi-
tions may be obtained from the Train-
ing Officer. Government of St. Vincent.

PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE OF
SOCIAL WORK-UNIVERSITY OF
THE WEST INDIES, MONA,
JAMAICA



The Extra-Mural Department of the
University of the West Indies is offer-
ing a Four Month Course in the Prin-
ciples and Practice of Social Work at
the Social Welfare Training Centre,
U.W.T., Mona from January 5th to
April 25th, 1970.

The Course is designed to meet the
needs of persons working in the broad
field of Social Welfare with three or
more years experience but without pro-
fessional training.

The University is offering a number
of full scholarships for the course, cov-
ering return passage to Jamaica, sub-
sistence allowance and an amount to
cover cost of books and field work ex-
penses.

Applications from interested persons
should be sent to the Training Officer,
Kingstown to reach not later than
3.00 p.m. on 18th September, 1969.
