POST OF COMPUTER OPERATOR
DATA PROCESSING DEPARTMENT
MINISTRY OF FINANCE, ST. VINCENT

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons, male or female, who
wish to be considered for appointment
to the above post.
Specification of Post
2. Trainee Computer Operator. The
successful applicant will be taught to
operate the computer configuration now
in use in the department and will be ex-
pected after training to be capable of
accepting responsibility for operating
the equipment in accordance with the
written instructions provided by the
Programmer for each routine.
3. The computer configuration con-
sists of:
(a) 1901/% Central Processor 8K
store.
(b) Console Typewriter.
(c) 1 Exchangeable Twin-Disc Unit.
(d) Line Printer.
(e) Paper Tape Reader.
4. The salary of the post is in the
scale T1: $1,392 x $84-$1,560 x $96-
$2,040 x $120-$2,280.
Qualifications
The qualities sought for in an opera-
tor are:
(a) Manual dexterity and an apti-
tude for practical work.
(b) Ability to reason logically
(c) Willingness to accept responsi-
bility.
Previous experience of operating a
computer with a similar configuration
to the one in use in the department will
be an advantage.


Educational Standards
A good secondary education, prefer-
ably to 'O' Level standard. Each appli-
cant will be required to take an aptitude
test and the successful applicant must
reach a satisfactory level in this test.

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for the vacant pen-
sionable post of Senior District Overseer
of Roads, Roads Division, in the Minis-
try for Communications and Works, in
the salary scale (T1-3)-$1,392 x $84-
$1,560 x $96-$2,040 x $120-$2,280/
$2,400 x $120--$2,880/$3,048 x $144-
$3,624 x $180-$3,984.
Successful applicants will be required
to reside and work in any of the Road
Districts in St. Vincent or in the Grena-
dines.
Applicants are required to have '0'
level G.C.E. Certificates in Mathematics
and English. The ability to read draw-
ings and field training in the use of sur-
veying instruments will be advantages.
Overseers are required to carry out
the day-to-day Supervision of mainten-
ance and construction work on the roads
of all classes in the districts to which
they are assigned.

Applications are invited from persons
willing to serve as Cadet Public Health
Inspectors in the Medical & Health
Department, St. Vincent.
2. Applicants should be between the
ages of 18 years and 25 years, and in
possession of the Cambridge Overseas
School Certificate or the General Certi-
ficate of Education, Ordinary level,
with at least three subjects including
English Language and Health Science.


3. Consideration will also be given
to applicants who have not obtained
either of the above-named certificates,
but who show evidence of having at-
tained a reasonable standard of educa-
tion at post primary level. Such candi-
dates will, however, be required to pass
a qualifying examination.
4. The cadet will be under the direct
control and supervision of the Public
Health Superintendent, and will be ap-
pointed on a temporary monthly basis.
Opportunity for further training lead-
ing to the Certificate of the Royal So-
ciety for the Promotion of Health is
possible.
5. Salary will be paid at the rate of
$1,392 per annum in the scale $1,392 x
$84-$1,560 x $96-$2,040 x $120-
$2,880.
6. Applications with copies of Birth
Certificate, Educational Certificates and
two recent testimonials, one of which
should if possible, be from the Head-
master of the School last attended by
the Candidate are to be submitted to the

to this Notice, the Administrator in Council proposes under sub-section (1) of
section 3 of the said Ordinance to make an order in the form set out in the
Schedule hereto.
2. Any person who objects to the making of such Order is hereby invited
to give notice in writing of his objection and of the grounds on which he relies
in support thereof, to the Clerk of the Executive Council on or before the 3rd

origin, is hereby declared to be a pioneer product for the said purposes.

Colony of plant for the manufacture of Wheaten Flour, is hereby declared
to be a pioneer industry for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries
Ordinance, 1952, and Wheaten Flour so manufactured is hereby declared to
be a pioneer product for the said purpose.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(No. 22 of 1946) that if the Administrator-in-Council considers that any land
may be required for a public purpose and it is necessary to make a preliminary
survey or other investigation of the land, he may cause a notification to that
effect to be published in the Gazette:
AND WHEREAS the Administrator-in-Council considers that a portion of
land approximately Two (2) Acres in area in the Parish of The Grenadines
(Paget Farm) the property said to belong to The Heirs of Edward Ollivierre
is likely to be acquired for a public purpose, to wit, the siting of a Cemetery.
AND WHEREAS it is necessary to make a preliminary survey of the said
portion of land;
Now THEREFORE this is to require all persons interested to allow the
Authorised Officer (and his agents, assistants and workmen) :
(a) to enter upon and survey and take levels of any land in any locality to
which notification relates;
(b) to dig or bore into the sub-soil of such land;
(c) to do all other acts necessary to ascertain whether the land is adapted
to such purpose;
(d) to set out the boundaries of the land intended to be taken, and the
intended line of the work, if any, proposed to be done thereon;
(e) to mark levels and lines by placing marks and cutting trenches;
(f) where otherwise the survey cannot be completed, the levels taken or
the boundaries or line of work set out, to cut down and clear away
any standing crop, fence, tree or bush;
(g) to do all such other acts as may be incidental to, or necessary for, any
of the purposes aforesaid.
