above post, which may be either perma-
nent and pensionable or on contract and
is subject to medical fitness.
The salary of the post is in the scale
$7,320 x 300-7,920 x 360-9,000 per
annum.
Qualifications: The minimum qualifi-
cations required for the post is an hon-
ours degree in Natural Sciences with
Chemistry from a recognized university
and at least five (5) years practical ex-
perience, preferably in a food and drugs
laboratory or F.R.I.C. with similar
experience or A.R.I.C.

It is hereby notified for general in-
formation that the closing date for ten-
ders for insurance of Government
owned vehicles has been extended to
3.00 p.mn. on Wdnesday, 16th April.
The period for insurance of the vehi-
cles will be from 30th April, 1969, to
30th April, 1970, instead of from 1st
April, 1969, to 31st March, 1970, as pre-
viously stated.

VACANT POST OF WARDEN OF
THE KINGSTOWN TOWN BOARD

Applications are invited from suitably
lqulified persons for appointment to the
post of Warden of the Kingstown Town
Board.

Salary:
The salary of the post, which is
pensionable, is fixed at $6,960.00 per
annum.

Qualification:
Applicants must have administra-
tive experience. A knowledge of Ac-
counting and Building Construction
will be an asset.

Duties:
(1) The Warden shall be the chief
executive officer of the Board, and
shall perform all such duties as are or
may be conferred and imposed upon
him by order of the Board.

(2) The Warden shall attend the
meetings of the Board and of every
Committee, and shall keep minutes of

NOTICE.

1. Applications are invited for Pa
Telecommunications Training Course at
the Philips International Institute of
Technological Studies, EINDHOVEN,
Netherlands. The Course is sponsored by
the Government of the Netherlands.
2. The Studies are at an advanced
level and only candidates with univer-
sity diplomas or the equivalent should
apply. Good results in the examinations
of the first two Semesters may lead to
an invitation from the Institute to stay
for a third Semester, preparing for the
Degree of Master of Electronic Engin-
eering.
3. Travel expenses to and from
Eindhoven are refundable from the In-
ternational Telecommunications Union,
who will also provide a cost of living
allowance. Accommodation and living
expenses will be borne by Philips Inter-
national Institute of Technological Stu-
dies.
4. Applications should be submitted
on Form T 1 to the Training Officer, by
Wednesday 30th April, 1969.

SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

Applications are invited for the award
of scholarships in 1969 at the University
of the West Indies, subject to the provi-
sion of funds under the West Indies
Scholarship Scheme.

candidates who will have received offers
from the University in April/May can
be considered for awards.

COTTON PROTECTION (CLOSE SEASON) ORDER.


(Gazetted 15th April, 1969).


1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Cotton Protection (Close
Season) Order. 1969.
2. Close Season. The period beginning on the 1st day of May, 1969, and
ending on the 15th day of Argust, 1969, for the Island of Saint Vincent, and
the period beginning on the 15th day of April, 1969, and ending on the 30th
day of June, 1969, for the Saint Vincent Grenadines shall be close seasons
within the meaning of the Cotton Protection Ordinance, (Cap. 37).


Made by the Administrator in Council under section 3 of the Cotton
Protection Ordinance (Cap. 37) this 11th day of April, 1969.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (DELPESCHE ELECTRO PLATING
WORKS) (PRODUCTION OF PLATED PRODUCTS) ORDER, 1969.

(Gazetted 151." April, 1969).

WHEREAS on the 31st day of December, 1968, by Statutory Rule and
Order No. 70 of 1968 the establishment, maintenance and operation in the
Colony of plant for the manufaetare of plated products was declared :i
pioneer industry for the puropses of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance,
1952 (No. 5 of 1952) and gold, silver, nickel and chrome plating for cutlery,
bathroom and kitchen fiittings so manufactured were declared to be pioneer
products for the said purpo-es:

THEREFORE in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by subsection
(1) of section 4 of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance. 1952. (No. 5 of
1952) the Adminstrator-in-Council has been pleased to make the following
Order:-

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
(Delpesche Electro Plating Works) (Production of Plated Products)
Order, 1969'.

2. Declaration. Delpesche E'ectro Plating Work.. ,a firm duly regis-
tered under the laws of Saint Vincent is hereby declared to be o
pioneer manufacturer in relation to the production of gold, silver.
nickel and chrome plating for cutlery, bathroom, and kitchen fittings
at the pioneer factory established at Kingstown.

3. Construction Day. Construction day was 1st July, 1968.

4. Production Day. Production d:-y was 1-t August, 1968.

WHEREAS on the 31st day of December, 1968 by Statutory Rule and
Order No. 72 of 1968, the establishment, maintenance and operation in St. Vin-
cent of a factory for the manufacture of pottery and other arts and crafts was
declared to be a pioneer industry for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer In-
dustries Ordinance, 1952 (No. 5 of 1952) and pottery and cther arts and
crafts so manufactured were declared to be pioneer products for the said
purposes:
