VACANT POSTS.

VACANT POST OF SENIOR SPECIALIST
PHYSICIAN, QUEEN ELIZABETH HOSPITAL

Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for appointment
to the above post, which may be either
permanent and pensionable or on con-
tract and is subject to medical fitness.
2. The salary of the post is $10,560
per annum (fixed).
3. Private consulting practice is per-
mitted both in and out of the Hospital,
provided the latter does not interfere
with Government duties. For consult-
ing practice in the hospital the officer
will receive a non-pensionable allow-
ance equal to 75% of the fees paid into
the Public Treasury for specialist ser-
vices rendered by the officer. The offi-
cer will retain full fees paid to him
for consulting practice outside of the
Hospital.
4. Applicants must possess qualifica-
tions registerable in the United King-
dom and must be Members of a Royal
College of Physicians or equivalent.
They must have had not less than six
years' professional experience of which
at least five years must have been in
general medicine in a large Hospital
and not less than three years at the
level of Registrar or equivalent.

VACANT POST OF STUDENT DISPENSER
AND STUDENT LABORATORY TECHNICIAN.

Applications are invited for six vacant
posts of Student Dispenser and three of
Student Laboratory Technician, to join
the Medical Department.
Applicants who should be between the
ages of 19 and 25 should be in possession
of their General Certificate of Education
and have obtained a pass in at least
three subjects, and preference will be
given to those who have passed in Eng-
lish Language, Biology, and Mathema-
tics.
On appointment they will undergo a
period of three years training, and dur-
ing this period will be attached to the
Dispensary and the Laboratory at the
Kingstown General Hospital.
They will be taken on at an Annual
Salary of $1,392 in the TI Scale ($1,392
x $84-$1,560 x $96-$2,040 x $120-
.2,280).
Applications with details of their
G.C.E. and two testimonials should be
forwarded to the Establishment Officer
by 10 April, 1969.

APPLICATIONS FOR AWARDS
UNDER THE WEST INDIES
SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

Applications are invited for the award
of scholarships in 1969 at the University
of the West Indies, subject to the provi-
sion of funds under the West Indies
Scholarship Scheme.
All persons possessing U.W.I. entry
requirements are eligible, but only those
candidates who will have received offers
from the University in April/May can
be considered for awards.
Candidates therefore, who have not
yet submitted forms of Application for
Entrance to the University must do so
by March 31st, 1969. Forms are avail-
able at the Office of the Extra-Mural
Tutor; a late fee of 10/6 ($2.52) is pay-
able.
One Scholarship is to be offered in
each of the following fields:-
Civil Engineering
Medicine
and for Teachers only:-
English
Mathematics
Modern Languages
Geography

HOUSING SCHEME FOR TWO PARCELS OF
LAND AT PERUVIAN VALE IS PUBLISHED
FOR GENERAL INFORMATION

Section 17 (4) of the Slum Clearance
and Housing Ordinance No. 1 of
1946.

The Central Housing and Planning
Authority hereby give notice that a
Housing Scheme is about to be sub-
mitted to the Administrator-in-Council
for approval.

1969, No. 11.


SUPPLIES (CONTROL) (PRICES) (REPLACEMENT) (AMENDMENT)
REGULATIONS.


(Gazetted 1st April, 1969).


1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Supplies (Control)
(Prices) (Replacement) (Amendment) Regulations, 1969, and shall be read as
one with the Supplies (Control) (Prices) (Replacement) Regulations, 1967,
(hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations) and all amendments
thereto.
2. Schedule to principal Regulations amended. The Schedule to the
principal Regulations is hereby amended by inserting immediately after the
Article "Rice (Demerara)--First Quality" and its Maximum Wholesale Price
and Maximum Retail Price in Areas "A", "B" and "C" the following:-
"Super Rice" of a Maximum Wholesale Price of $32.65 per bag of 177 lbs."
and a Maximum Retail Price in Areas "A", "B'" and "C" respectively of
20c. per lb.; 21c. per lb. and 21c. per lb.


Made by the Administrator in Council under section 3 of the Supplies
(Control) Ordinance, 1954 (No. 10 of 1954) this 1st day of April, 1969.
