and on certain locally produced or

TO ALL EMPLOYED PERSONS


Every person deriving income from
any employimeitt or by way of pensi,,n
is hereby reminded that the latest date
for the submi. Sion of Income Tax Re-
turns for assessment in the year 1969
is the 31st January, 1969, and that fail-
ure to give notice of chargeability is
an offence against the Income Tax Or-
dinan'e. rendering the person con-
cerned liable on conviction to a fine
not exceeding ONE THOUSAND DOL-
LARS and in default of payment to im-
pri.onmicnit with or without hard lab-'.r

and after judgement has been given
for that penalty to a further penalty of
fifty dollars for every day during which
the refusal, failure or neglect to ren-
der any document continues.

2. EVERY PERSON whose income
accruing in, d'.ve(Id from the Colony
or elsewhere and whether received in
the Colony or not I tr the breeding
year, exceeded the statutory limit of
$300.09 is required to submit a return
on the prescribed form notwithstand-
ing that on account of approved de-
ductions no tax may eventually be
chargeable, and particular attention is
directed to the fact that the term "in-
come"' is deemed to include not only
money but also allowance- in kind.

':. Efforts are being made to send
foillns to such per ;ons through their
Eiiployers or Hleads of Departments-
(in the ease of Government Employees).
It is to be clearly understood, however,
that the Income Tax Department is
under no obligation to send a return
to anyone and that a person is not ex-
oi(.rated from the st:itutory liability
of making a return even though a form
may nct have been received from the
Department. Forms may be obtained,
on application. :t hle Revenue Office,
at Georgetown, Barrouallie, Bequia
and Union Island, or in any other dis-
trict from the Police Station situate
therein, o" from the Income Tax Office,
Kingstown, where any person revqir-
ing information in connection therewith
is invited to enquire.

income other then salaries, the form
should include parli-naars thereof and
qhoud be accompanied by the necessary
supporting statements.

GAMBLING AND BETTING LICENSESS) REGULATIONS.

(Gazetted 21st January, 1969.)

1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Gambling and
Betting (Licences) Regulations, 1969.

2. Interpretation. In these Regulations,
"the Ordinance" means the Gambling, Lotteries and Betting Ordinance,
1968;
Authority" means the Gaming Authority established under section 3 of
the Ordinance;
"Schedule" means the Schedule to these Regulations.
(2) In these Regulations any reference to a Form in the Sehedule shall
include a reference to a form in the like effect with such variations as the cir-
cumstances may require.

3. Application for grant of permits and licenses. An application made
in accordance with paragraph 5 of the first Schedule to the Ordinance for the
grant of a permit to carry on such business as is mentioned in paragraph (a) or
(b) of subsection (1) of section 30 of the Ordinance or a permit to operate
a pinball machine under section 15 of the Ordinance or a pinball machine
licence or a betting office licence, shall be made in writing in form numbered
1 and 2, as the case may be, in the Schedule and shall contain such particulars
and, if the application is for a permit, give such references as are required
thereby.

4. Application for renewal of permits and licenses. An application made
in accordance with paragraph 9 of the First Schedule to the Ordinance for the
renewal of a permit to carry on such business as is mentioned in paragraph (a)
or (b) of subsection (1) of section 30 of the Ordinance or a permit to operate
a pinball machine under section 15 of the Ordinance or a pinball machine
licence for a betting office licence shall be made in writing in forms numbered
3 and 4, as the case may be, in the Schedule and shall contain .inch particulars
as are required thereby.

5. Form of permits and licences. A permit to carry on such business
as is mentioned in paragraph (a) or (b) of subsection (1) of section 30 of
the Ordinance or a permit to operate a pinball machine under section 15 of

granted in the form nmiiibered 5 and renewed in form numbered 6 in the
Schedule.

6. Register of permits and licence'. The A\ihority shall canue to be kept

REGULATIONS FOR THE PAYMENT OF OVERTIME FEES OF
THE GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE.


(Gazelted 21st Janniry, 1969).


1. Short title. These regulations may he cited as the Overtime Fees
Regulations of the Government Printing Office.
(a) Overtime fees shall be payable as follows:-
(i) Employees in the Executive Grade with salaries ranging from
$4,704-$5,244 be paid a commuted allowance equal to 15% of
their salary.

(ii) Employees whose salaries or wages are in the scale $2,400-$3,984
per annum shall be paid an hourly rate of overtime adjusted to
relate to the actual salary of the Officer i.e. one-fortieth of the
weekly salary of the Officer or in accordance with the formula -

Actual Salary
= per payable hour of overtime.

In the case of overtime on Sundays, Public Holidays and between 9.00
p.m. and 6.00 a.m. on an ordinary working day, the 'equivalent of "time and
a half", calculated in accordance with the formula -

per payable hour of overtime, shall be paid to the officer.
(iii) Employees whose salaries or wages are in the scale $1,392 per
annum to $2,280.
$1.00 per hour from 4.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.
$1.50 per hour from 9.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m.
$1.00 per hour from 6.00 a.m. to 8.00 a.m.
Provided that for work done on Sundays and Public Holi-
days the rate payable shall be $1.50 per hour.

(iv) Employees whose salaries or wages are in tlie scale from $1,200-
$1,380
$ .72 per hour from 4.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.
$1.08 per hour from 9.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m.
$ .72 per hour from 6.00 a.m. to 8.00 a.m.

Provided that for work done on Sundays and Public Holi-
days the rate payable shall be $1.08 per hour.

(b) On Sundays and Public Holidays work shall commence at 7.00 a.m.
or as soon thereafter possible.

2. Commencement. All rates herein above set out shall be deemed to
have been payable from the 1st day of January, 1966.
