COMMONWEALTH CARIBBEAN REGIONAL
SECRETARIAT

VACANCY FOR LIBRARIAN

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
post of LIBRARIAN in the Commonwealth
Caribbean Regional Secretariat, George-
town, Guyana.
Applicants must be professionally
qualified librarians with experience in
all aspects of library work.
The salary scale attached to the post
of LIBRARIAN is $6,240 per annum rising
by annual increments of $240 to $7,200
per annum and the point of entry in the
scale will depend on the qualification
and experience of the person selected.
A house allowance of $2,400 per annum
will be paid.
Secretariat staff will not be required
to pay income tax to the Government of
Guyana. They will, however, be re-
quired to make payments monthly to a
Staff Assessment Scheme. This assess-
ment will be computed on the basis of
gross salary, excluding allowances.
Applications (three copies) given age,
qualifications and details of past experi-
ence should be addressed to the Secre-
tary-Goneral, Commonwealth Caribbean
Regional Secretariat, 205, Camp Street,
Georgetown. Guyana, to reach him not
later than 31st January, 1969.

VACANT POST OF AMBULANCE DRIVER,
MEDICAL DEPARTMENT

Applications are invited for the post
of Ambulance Driver at the Kingstown
General Hospital.
2. Applicants who should be be-
tv,c a; the ages of 23 and 30 years,
should hold a current Driving Licence,.
have had no Driving Offences and pro-
duce a Medical Certificate of Fitness
which includes a satisfactory Eye Test.
3. Salary will be paid in the M.S.
2 & 3 Scale ($1,200 x $60-$1,620 x
$84-$1,788), with a commencing salary
of $1,200 per annum.
4. Applications should be for-
warded to the Establishment Officer by
the 23rd January, 1969.

VACANT POST OF MARINE ENGINEER,.
PORT DEPARTMENT, BARBADOS.

Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for appointment
to the above post, which may be either
permanent and pensionable or on con-
tract and is subject to medical fitness.
The salary of the post is in the scale
$5,580 x 240-7,020 x 300-7,920 x 360
-9,000 per annum.
Applicants should possess a Certifi-
cate of Competency as a Chief Engineer
(Foreign Going) or its equivalent and
not less than four years experience as a
Second Engineer.

details of the post may be obtained from
Establishment Officer, Establishment
and Personnel Division, Kingstown.
Application forms should reach the
Chief Personnel Officer, Service Com-
missiors Department, "Flodden", Cul-

ers of disallowance in respect of the fol-
lowing Ordinances of this Govern-
ment:-
No. 15 of 1968.-An Ordinance to
consolidate certain amendments of
the Customs Duties Ordinance,
Cap. 184 and to repeal and replace
the Schedule of Duties and all other
Schedules to the said Ordinance.

No. 16 of 1968.-An Ordinance to
amend the Customs Duties Ordin-
ance to make provision for matters
arising out of the Caribbean Free
Trade Association Agreement.

vide for the expenditure during the
financial year ending on the thirty-
first day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and sixty-eight, upon
certain services in excess of the Ap-
propriation law, relating to the year
one thousand, nine hundred and
sixty-eight.


No. 37 of 1968.-An Ordinance to
make provision for the orderly and
progressive development of land
and to preserve and improve the
amenities thereof, for the grant of
permission to develop land and for
other powers of control over the use
of land.

No. 38 of 1968.-An Ordinance to re-
peal the Saint Vincent Memorial
Hall (Trustees) Ordinance, 1954.

regulate the operation and naviga-
tion of power-craft and to provide
for matters connected with or inci-
