VACANCY NOTICES.

POST OF FEMALE PRISON OFFICER.

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for the post of Female
Prison Officer.
2. The post is pensionable with
salary in the scale $1.320 x $60-$1,380/
$1,464 x $84-$1,9-i8 x $96-$2,064.
Good conduct allowance is payable if
the officer qualifies for it.
3. Applicants should be between the
ages of 21 and 33 years, and should have
at least gained the Primary School
Leaving Certificate. Practical experi-
ence and knowledge of sewing and mid-
wifery would be valuable assets. Ap-
plicants must be recommended by at
least two prominent and respectable
citizens.
4. Further particulars can be ob-
tained from the Superintendent of
Prisons.


5. Applications, in the Applicant's
own hand writing should be addressed
to the "Superintendent of Prisons,
Kingstown", to reach not later than
23rd October, 1968.

information that a Special Issue of St.
Vincent Postage Stamps, commemorat-
ing International Human Rights Year,
in denominations of three cents (3)
and thirty-five cents (35 ) will be re-
leased for sale at the General Post Office,
Kingstown and District Post Offices
throughout the territory on 1st Novem-
ber, 1968.
In order to facilitate Philatelists, a
First Day Cover Service will be in
operation at the General Post Office on
the date of Release.
The Issue will remain on sale for a
period of three (3) months or until
stocks are exhausted, whichever is the
sooner.

builders of wooden bodies to these vehi-

Vehicle and Road Traffic Regulations
S.R. & O. No. 35 of 1959 Section 21 (2)
& (3) which read as follows:-
;2) The Motor Vehicle or Trailer
shall not exceed seven feet six
inches in overall width.
(3) Except with the permission of
the Licensing Authority no vehi-
cle shall have a lateral overhang
of more than six inches or a
longitudinal overhang of more
than fifty inches.
Before wooden bodies are built on any
type of vehicle, owners and builders are
reque.tlod to call at the Traffic Office,
Central Police Station where they will
be advised as to the requirements of the
Ordinance and Regulations.
Vehicles built or imported contrary
to the specifications of the above-men-
tioned Regulations will not be passed by
the Moter Vehicle Examiner.

cates of Fitness to sell intoxicating
Liquor in respect of the year 1969 un-
der the above named Ordinance are
hereby reminded that:-
1. There will be the Annual Licens-
ing Sessions for the Parishes of
Saints Andrew & George, Char-
lotte, Saint David, Saint Patrick
and the Grenadines in the month
of December, 1968, for the pur-
pose of considering the grant of
new certificates and renewals in
respect of the year 1969.
2. Application forms are available at
the Magistrates' Office, Kingstown
and at the various Police Stations.
3. Applications for new Certificates

WHEREAS the sum of money granted by the Appropria-
tion Ordinance, 1968, for the services of the year ending on
the thirty-first day of December one thousand nine hundred and
sixty-eight is insufficient to meet the demands of such services.

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty,
by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council of
St Vincent and by the authority of the same as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Supplementary Short title.

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
(Arnos Vale Industries Limited) (Production of Soap, Edible Oils, Margarine
and Stock Feeds) (Amendment) Order, 1968, and shall be read as one with
the Aid to Pioneer Industries (Amos Vale Industries Limited) (Production of
Soap, Edible Oils, Margarine and Stock Feeds) Order, 1968, (S.R. & O. 1968,
No. 8) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

2. Order No. 4 cf principal Order cancelled and replaced. Order No. 4
of the principal Order is hereby cancelled and replaced with the following:-

1. Short title. This Notice may be cited as the Customs (Approved Place
of Unloading) Notice, 1968.

8. Appointment. The parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto
is hereby appointed an approved place of unloading.

SCHEDULE

All that parcel of land extending from the Calliaqua river eastward for
a distance of approximately one hundred and sixty feet (160 ft.) and southward
towards the high water mark of the sea and more particularly shown and
delineated as a result on a plan of survey No. G 6/65 lodged in the Surveys
Department on 5th May, 1967.

WHEREAS by section 7 of the Bank Holdiays' ordinance, Cap,, 161, it is
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Administrator in CounitilR fom time to
time, by Proclamation in the Gazette, to appoint a speTial-day to be obsreved
as a Bank Holiday throughout the Colony:
AND WHEREAS it is meet that a day should be set apart at the close of the
Hurricane Season for General Thanksgiving for our preservation from the
elements and for other blessings vouchsafed to us to be duly observed in all
Churches, Chapels and other places of worship:
Now THEREFORE, I do, in accordance with the advice of the Executive
Council, and pursuant to the authority in me vested by the said Ordinance,
hereby appoint Monday, the 11th day of November, 1968, to be observed as a
Bank Holiday throughout the Colony, so that it may be set apart for General
Thanksgiving as aforesaid.
GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Island of Saint Vincent
at Government House in the said Island this 15th day of October in
the Year of Our Lord One thousand nine hundred and sixty-eight and
