Leaving Certificate. Secondary Educa-
tioll would be an asset.

citizens.
Salary commences at the rate of
$1,320 per annum and the following

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, COMMON
MARKET SECRETARIAT.

1. Applications are invited for the
post of Senior Administrative Officer to
the East Caribbean Common Market
Secretariat in St. Lucia on a contract
basis for a period of three years.
2. The salary of the post will be
$8,400 flat and a housing allowance of
$480 per annum will be payable if the
officer is recruited from outside St.
Lucia.
3. The Officer will be required to
operate the provisions of the Common
Market Agreement under the general
supervision of the Executive Secretary.
The Officer should be experienced in

Scholarships offered by the Govern-
ment of India

The Government of India is offering
a number of Scholarships for studies in
India to students from the West Indies
under their General Cultural Scholar-
ships Scheme for 1969/70.
The Scholarships cover a wide range
of subjects including Arts and Human-
ities in general; basic Sciences (includ-
ing Home Science, Library Science),
Statistics; Commerce, Agriculture,
Medicine, Law.
Applicants for under-graduate study
should be between the age of 17 and
22 years and should possess Senior
Cambridge/Matriculation (or its equiv-
alent), those for post-graduate courses
should preferably be between 20-25
years with at least a Second Division
Bachelor's Degree.
Further information about these
Scholarships could be obtained from
the Establishment Office, Kingstown,
St. Vincent.
Closing date for applications, which

is 19th October, 1968, at 3.00 p.m.

DYNAMITING OF FISH IN THE
GRENADINES.

It has been brought to the Notice of
the Government that certain persons
have been engaged in the pernicious
practice of dynamiting fish in and
around the St. Vincent Grenadines.
The Public is hereby reminded that
the possession of explosives without a
licence from the Chief of Police con-
stitutes an offence under the Explo-
sives Ordinance No. 22 of 1950, pun-
ishable by a fine of Four Hundred and
Eighty Dollars.

Martin Luther King, Nobel Peace Prize
Winner in 1964, who was assassinated in
1968 while upholding the cause of the
Civil Rights Movement.

The duties of the post which is non-

EDUCATION NOTICE.

EVENING CLASSES-1968/1969.

Evening Classes leading to the Gen-
eral Certificate of Education at Ordin-
ary Level for 1969 will commence on
16th September, 1968 at the Grammar
School.
2. Tuition will be offered in English
Language, English Literature, Mathe-
matics, Geography, West Indian His-
tory, Health Science, Bible Knowledge
and Biology provided that at least six
(6) students enrol for each class.


3. The fees are one dollar ($1.00)
per subject per term. A refund will be
made of the full fee paid by students
who subsequently withdraw when the
reqonlt, nf the 19'9S C.C.E. examination
are known on condition that notice of
withdrawal is given to the Education
Officer before the first class begins.
