posts of stenographers in various de-

Duties:
The duties of the posts consist
mainly of taking dictation and trans-
cribing from shorthand notes so made
and such other duties as the Head of
Department may assign from time to
time.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a G.C.E.
'O0' level in English Language plus an
R.S.A. Certificate (or certificates
from other reputable examining
bodies) of ability to take dictation at
100 w.p.m. and to transcribe accu-
rately from shorthand notes at 40
w.p.m.


Salary:
Successful applicants will be paid
in the salary scale $1,872 x $96-
'2.160 x $120-$2,760 x $144-$3,192.
Salary on appointment will depend on
qualifications and experience.

POST OF BAILIFF, INLAND REVENUE
DEPARTMENT.

Applications are invited for the
vacant post of Bailiff, Inland Revenue
Department.
The post is pensionable with salary in
the scale: $1,392, $1,392/$1,536 x $84-
$1,872 x $96-$2,160/$2,280 x $120-
$2,760 x $144-$3,624.
The duties of the post are mainly con-
cerned with the collection of Arrears of
Tax in accordance with standing regula-
tions.
Travelling allowance is payable in
accordance with local regulations.

testimonials and birth certificate must

Four young women are required for
operating the punches and verifiers in
the above department.
2. Applicants should:
(a) be between the ages of 17 to
30 years.
(b) have a good general secon-
dary education.
3. Successful applicants will receive
salary in the scale $1,332 x $60-$1,812.
Consideration will be given for appoint-
ment above the minimum salary where
the applicant has previous experience of
operating punches and verifiers.
4. The posts are expected to become
available on or about 24th June, 1968.
5. Applications, clearly marked
"Punch/Verifier Operator", should be

VACANT POSTS OF COXSWAIN AND
ENGINEER FOR HARBOUR LAUNCH.

Applications are invited for the
vacant posts of Coxswain and Engineer
for a Harbour Launch attached to the-
Port and Marine Department.
The Launch will be used for the fol-
lowing services:-

Station to await the arrival of
ships entering the Port of Kings-

(b) To assist in berthing ships;

(d) To undertake Search and Rescue
operations within an area extend-
ing to 25 nautical miles to sea-
ward from the coast line of the
Territory;
(e) Harbour Patrol covering the Lee-
ward and Windward Coasts;
(f) Occasional trips to the Grena-
dines transporting Government
Officials;
(g) To undertake such other duties
as may be assigned by the Port
Officer;
The posts are at present non-pension-
able and salary will be paid as follows:-
(1) Coxswain:
Scale T. 1-2-$1,392 x $84-
$1,560 x $96-$2,040 x $120-
$2,880.
(2) Engineer:
Scale T. 1-$1,392 x $84-$1,560

Salary on appointment will depend

VACANT POST OF LIGHTHOUSE
KEEPER AND SIGNALMAN,
SIGNAL STATION.

Applications are invited for the
vacant post of Lighthouse Keeper and
Signalman at the Signal Station, Fort
Charlotte.
The Signal Station operates on a
twenty-four hour basis and the success-
ful applicant will be required to work
on an eight hour shift system.
The post is at present non-pension-
able and salary will be paid in the Scale
MS 2-3 i.e.-$1,200 x $60-$1,620 x $84
-$1,788.
Applicants must state age and educa-
tional qualifications.


Applications should be forwarded to
the Port Officer, Port and Marine De-
partment, Deep Water Wharf, Kings-
town, and should be received not later
than the 21st June, 1968.

As there appears to be some misunder-
sLanding, drivers and riders of motor
vehicles are reminded that they are re-
quired to Stop the vehicle and shall not
move the vehicle or cause the same to.
be moved to the road junction next
ahead until they have satisfied them-
selves that it is safe to do so.
The practise of only stopping if an-
other vehicle is approaching is a contra-
vention of the law and anyone so offend-
ing is liable to be prosecuted.
