from Kingstown on these oc-
casions will be 8.00 a.m.


2. The contract will be for a period
of one year from 1st June, 1968, and all
trips must be done in daylight with a
reasonable stay at each island in the
Grenadines.

3. The successful tenderer will be
responsible for delivery of mails and
parcels direct to and from all Post
Offices at Port Elizabeth, Canouan, May-
reau and Union Island.

4. He will be required to state the
arrangements to be made for a replace-
ment of the contract vessel in the event
of a breakdown in the service.

5. No tender will be considered if
the Motor Vessel tendered is not licensed
under the Passenger Boats Ordinance,
1906, to carry passengers; and its Mas-
ter must hold a certificate of competency
in accordance with Regulations 18 and
19 of Statutory Rules and Orders
No. 31 of 1957. The boat offered for the
service must be sea worthy and have
adequate lavatory facilities for all pas-
sengers.

6. Tenders must state the amount of
subsidy required and should be ad-
dressed to the Secretary, Central Sup-
ply Tenders Board, Ministry of Finance,
Ministerial Buildings, Kingstown, in
sealed envelopes, distinctly marked
"TENDERS FOR CONVEYANCE OF
MAILS AND PASSENGERS TO AND
FROM THE GRENADINES."

7. Government does not bind itself
to accept the lowest or any tender.

it is an offence to fly a kite in the
vicinity of the aerodrome, and for the
purposes of air safety persons are re-
minded to refrain from this practice
in the area.

EDUCATION NOTICE.

A competitive examination for the
award of scholarships for boys and girls
tenable at the Grammar School and
Girls' High School will be held at the
Grammar School on Friday, 5th July,
1968.

2. The Scholarships are open to
pupils attending Government or Assist-
ed Primary Schools which satisfy the
requirements of the Board of Education,
and entitle the holder to free tuition,
games and Library fees and the neces-
sary school books and stationery. All
Scholarship holders, who during the
tenure of a scholarship normally reside
not less than two miles from the limits
of Kingstown measured by the shortest
public highway, shall be entitled to re-
ceive the maintenance grant at the rate
of one hundred and ninety-two dollars
($192.00) per annum; provided that
should a scholarship holder cease to re-
side, for any period during the tenure
of the scholarship, no maintenance
grant should be paid in respect of such
period, unless such scholarship holder
is living for the purpose of taking ad-
vantage of the scholarship.

3. Candidates must (a) have been


less than 12 years of age on the 31st
July, 1968. Age must be proved by a
birth certificate or baptismal certificate;
(b) have attended a Government or
Assisted Primary School which satisfies
the requirements of the Board of Edu-
cation, during the twelve months pre-
ceding the 31st July, 1968 for not less
than 75% of the maximum attendance
Register kept in the school; (c) furnish
a certificate of good conduct from the
Head Teacher or Head Teachers of such
school or schools; (d) be natives of the
territory or children of natives or have
been resident in the territory for at least
two (2) years.

4. The Education Officer is empow-
ered to accept for examination any can-
didate who, through illness has failed
to comply with the requirements of
paragraph 3 (b) above, with respect to
the number of attendances.

5. No scholarship shall be awarded
to any candidate who obtains less than
one third of the possible marks in each
subject and less than one-half of the to-
tal possible marks in the examination.

('. Scholarships are awarded for a
period of not more than six (6) years
provided the Scholar's attendance, con-
duct and progress as shown by the term
reports are considered satisfactory.

7. Candidates will be examined in
English (including Comprehension)
and Arithmetic, and shall be given an
Intelligence Test.

8. Applications accompanied by
Birth or Baptismal Certificates must
reach the Education Office not later than
Saturday, 8th June, 1968.

1. Short title. This Notice may be cited as the Burial Ground (Public)
(Cancellation) Notice, 1968.
2. Cancellation. The Burial Ground (Public) Notice, 1967 (S.R. & 0.
1967, No. 25) is hereby cancelled.


Made by the Administrator in Council under the Burial Grounds Ordin-
ance, 1951 (No. 1 of 1951) this 9th day of April, 1968.
