GIRLS' HIIGHI SCHOOL.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

An Examination for Entrance to the
Girls' High School in September, 1967,
will be held at the School on Friday, 7th
July, 1967, at 8.30 a.m.
Candidates should be not less than 10
years 6 months nor more than 13 years
6 months on 30th September, 1967, and
parents are asked to submit Birth Certi-
ficates before Friday 23rd June, 1967.
Candidates will be expected to bring
along pencils, pens and rulers. Writing
paper will be supplied.

ST. VINCENT BANANA GROWERS
ASSOCIATION.


NOTICE

The Board of Management is offering
two scholarships, one for a boy and one
for a girl to the Government Secondary
Schools.
Only children of banana growers
who were registered on the books of the
Association on the 1st day of January,
1967 will be eligible.
The award will be made on the results
of the examination for Government
Scholarships to be held in July by the
Education Department.
Copies of the rules governing the
award can be had on application to the
Secretary/Manager of the Association
at Lot 10, Sharpe Street, Kingstown,
or from the Secretary of any district
branch.
Applications must reach the Sec-
retary/Manager, St. Vincent Banana
Growers Association, Lot 10, Sharpe
Street, Kingstown, not later than Thurs-
day the 23rd June, 1967.

NOTICE.

KINGSTOWN BOARD

A competitive examination for the
award of two Scholarships tenable at
the St. Vincent Grammar School and
Girls' Hig'h School will be held at the
Richmond Hill Government School on
Friday, 7th July, 1967, beginning at
9.00 a.m.
2. Each Candidate must:-
(a) Have been less than twelve
years of age on 31st July,
1967.
(b) be a native of the Island or
child of a native;
(c) have been residing in Kings-
town or within half a mile of
the boundaries thereof during
the three years previous to
31st July, 1967.
(d) be a pupil of a private or
public school in the Island;
(e) produce a certificate of good
behaviour from the Head
Teacher of such school.
3. No candidate shall be awarded a
Scholarship who obtains less than one
third of the maximum of marks in each
subject and less than one half of the
total marks in the Examination.
4. Candidates will be examined in
English, (including Comprehension)
and Arithmetic, and will be given an
Intelligence Test.
5. The Scholarships are awarded for
a period of five years, provided the
Scholar's attendance, conduct and pro-
gress as shown by the term reports are
considered satisfactory.
6. Applications, accompanied by Birth
or Baptismal certificates must reach the
office of the Kingstown Board, Paul's
Lot, not later than Wednesday, 38th
Juniie, 1067.

OVERSEAS STUDENTS

Admissio Arrangements.

Commonwealth citizens applying for
entry to the United Kingdom as
students will be accepted only for a
full-time or sandwich course of study.
They will not be prevented from

taking vacation employment, or employ-
ment which is an integral part of their
studies.
They may take the odd part-time
jobs during term-time provided it is
subsidiary to and does not interfere
with a full time course of study.
Commonwealth citizens will NOT be
accepted for a course of study which
will leave them free to engage in gain-
ful employment for a substantial part
of their time.
By "Full-Time" Courses are meant
those which involve at least 15 hours
weekly attendance in term-time for or-
ganise 1 day-time study.
Students applying from Common-
wealth countries which operate this
system should normally make their
application t]iroi- h their home authori-
ty. If the home authority concerned
is satisfied with t1 applicant's bona-
fides ibis is granted, and iL recom-
mended application forwarded to the
student office or national authority in
London for placing.
Failure by a person to comply with
the conditions on which he was admit-
ted is an offence against the law.

QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY PARADE
SATURDAY 10TH JUNE, 1967.

Regulations made y the Chief of Police
under Section 79 (1) of the Motor
Vehicles & Road Traffic Ordinance,
No. 20 of 1940.

VICTORIA PARK
Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11
a.m. on Saturday 10th June, 1967 dur-
ing the Parade to celebrate the Birth-
day of Her Majesty the QUEEN, Motor
Vehicles will be admitted to Victoria
Park by way of Peebles Bridge only.

ONE WAY TRAFFIC
A system of One-Way Traffic will be
conformed to on North River Road
between Grenville Street and Peebles
Bridge. Vehicles travelling along this
route will proceed from South to North
only.
Vehicles entering Victoria Park will
also conform to a system of One-Way
Traffic; proceeding anticlockwise around
the Park.


MOTOR VEHICLE EXIT
Exit will be by way of Bentinck
Square and Road to Leeward.

PARKING.
Motor Vehicles bearing "Red Stick-
ers" will park on the road outside the
Park enclosure as directed by the Police.
Motor Vehicles bearing "Blue Stick-
ers" will park in the open space in
front of the Colonial Hospital Annexe,
also along Back Street and Fernside.

COCKTAIL PARTY-
GOVERNMENT HOUSE
Motor Vehicles bearing "Red Stick-
rrs" will park on the Government
House Crounds as directed by the
Police. Motor Vehicles bearing "Blue
Stickers" will park in Mrs. Maingot's
premises.

Regulations made by the Chief of
Police under Section 79 (1) of the
Motor Vehicles & Road Traffic Ordin-
ance (No. 20 of 1940).

It is hereby notified for general infor-
mation that due to repairs being carried
out on Back Street, the following road
will be closed to vehicular traffic with
effect from 22nd May, 1967:-
"THAT PORTION OF BACK
STREET BETWEEN P.W.D. GATE
AND THE EASTERN END OF
BACK STREET (U.T.L. CORN-
ER) ".
Vehicles proceeding in this direction
will do so by way of Bay Street which
will be TWO WAY between Egmont
Street and Hillsboro Street until fur-
ther notice.
Parking of vehicles will not be per-
mitted on Bay Street between Egmont
Street and Hillsboro Street.

Cart for this purpose does not in-
clude a Hand Cart or a Cart drawn by
a Motor Vehicle or by a Draught

vention of the above-mentioned Section
after 1st day of June, 1967 will be
prosecuted.

Notice of a decision to prepare a Housing Scheme for two parcels of land
at Petit lBordel, is published for general information.
(Section 17 (14) of the Slum Clearance and Housing Ordinance No. 1
of 1946).
The Central Housing and Planning Authority hereby give notice that a
Housing Scheme is about to be submitted to the Administrator-in-Council
for approval:-


(a) All that parcel of land lying in the Parish of St. David, at Petit
Bordel, being- a portion of Land Settlement Estate, measuring more or
less 6 Acres, 2 Roods, 32 Poles, and bounded on the North by lands of
Land Settlement Estate, on the South by Leeward Highway, on the
West by Petit Bordel River and the sea, and on the East by Land
Settlement Estate, the whole as delineated on a plan of survey
bearing number D-94. lodged in the office of the Crown Surveyor on
the 13th day of December, 1961.
(b) All that parcel of land lying in the Parish of St. David, at Petii
Bordel, being a portion of Land Settlement Estate?, measliring more
or less 3 Acres, 2 Roods, 5 Poles, and bounded on the North by lands
of the Leeward Highway and a road, on the South by Petit Bordel
River, and on the East by a Road, the whole as delineated on a plan
of survey bearing number D-95, lodged in the office of the Crown
Surveyor on the 27th day of March, 1963.
2. A copy of the Scheme and Plans No. D-94 and D-95 of the area referred
to can be seen at the office of the Central Housing and Planning Authority.
3. Any person having any objection to the said Scheme or to the said
plans may object thereto in writing to the Secretary of the Central Housing
and Planning Authority not later than the 30th day of May, 1967.
