holding the Cambridge School Certificate
preferably with a credit in mathematics,
or its equivalent, for the temporary non-
pensionable post mentioned above carry-
ing a salary of $1,392 X 84-$1,560
X 96-$2,040 X 120-$2,280, $2,400

X 180-$3,984.
A scale bar at $2,280 will be crossed
on satisfactory completion of a 1 year
course of training abroad.

POST or You'rli EMPLOYMENT OFFICER.

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified men and women for the Post of
Youth Employment Officer.
Appointment:
This is a post financed from a
Scheme under Colonial Development
and Welfare Funds. The post is non-
pensionable. It is proposed to apply


for further C.D. & W. Funds for the
continuation of the Post.
Duties:
The duties of the Officer appointed
will include the establishment and
operation of a Service to help and
advise school leavers and others on
the Choice of Employment, further
education and Training Schemes, and
the mn in functions will be to collect
and disseminate careers information,
provide talks to schools, give voca-
tional guidance and help to find suit-
able openings in Industry and Com-
merce.
Further functions would be to
maintain co-operation with Employers
and help to fill vacancies with special
reference to apprenticeships.
Salary:
The salary of the post is at present
in the salary scale of $3,372 X 144
-$3,948.
Transport Allowance:
Basic $29.00 per month plus 13
cents per mile.
Qualification:
The appropriate Educational stan-
dard for entry into the Civil Service
and experience in dealing with young
people.
Applications stating qualifications, ex-
perience and age accompanied by two
testimonials must be submitted to the
Chief Secretary, Government Office, St.
Vincent, and must reach him not later
than 19th April, 1966.

DISTRICT MEDICAL OFFICERS,
GOVERNMENT OF ST. VINCENT,
WEST INDIES.

Applications are invited from quali-
fied Medical Officers to fill vacant posts
of District Medical Officer, St. Vincent,
West Indies.
2. Appointment: The posts are pen-
sionable, but appointment may be on
contract for a period of 3 years in the
first instance. In the case of a contract
appointment a gratuity of 12%% of
salary is payable on the satisfactory
completion of the contract.
3. Salary: Salary is in the scale
$5,280 X 240-$6,240/$6,480 X 240
-$7,440. Commencing salary will be
determined according to qualifications
and post-qualification experience. Pri-
vate practice is permitted, provided that
it does not interfere with the proper

performance of the officer's official
duties.

POST OF HEADMASTER GRAMMAR SCHOOL,
ST. VINCENT.

Applications are invited for appoint-
ment to the post of Headmaster, Gram-
mar School, St. Vincent, The West
Indies.
Appointment:
The School is a Government Insti-
tution with an enrolment at present
of 327 pupils. The post is pensionable.
The appointment may however be on
contract for a period of three years
if preferred. In this event, a gra-
tuity at the rate of 121/2%o of salary
will be payable on the satisfactory
conclusion of the contract. The Offi-
cer will be subject to the Colonial
Regulations and local General Orders
for the time being in force in so far
as they are applicable. The appoint-
ment will be subject to medical fitness
and will be on probation for a period
of one year in the first instance.
Salary:
The salary of the post is in the
scale $6,084 X 240-$7,044. The
point of entry into the salary scale
will be determined according to the
qualifications and experience of the
candidate.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Degree
of a University within the British
Commonwealth, and must have had
experience of teaching in a Secondary
School.
Quarters:
Quarters are not provided.
Passage:
Free first class passage to St. Vin-
cent will be provided for the officer
and if married, for his wife and chil-
dren under eighteen years and depen-
dent on him up to a maximum of five
passages in all.


Medical Attention:
Free Medical attention and medi-
cines are not provided.

Taxation :
All Government Officers are liable
to taxation imposed by local legisla-
tion.
