U.N.E.S.C.O. commemorative stamp
issue.
This set of commemorative stamps,
issued by the United Nations, will illus-
trate the objects and work 'of the United
Nations Educational Scientific apd Cul-
tural Organisation to commemorate the
twentieth anniversary of the Organisa-
tion.
The stamps which are likely to be
released late in 1966, will be of the fol-
lowing denominations: 40, 8, 250.
Orders from overseas should be ad-
dressed to the Postmaster, General Post
Office, St. Vincent.

ST. VINCENT AIR PHOTOGRAPHY.

The Ministry of Overseas Develop-
ment in Great Britain has recently
announced the award of a contract to
Messrs. Fairey Surveys Ltd., for the
air photography of certain Caribbean
territories imncludie g St. Vineent. The
work should begin in February 1966.
2. This survey has been requested by
the Minister of Communications and
Works as a preliminary to the physical
planning of the island to be undertaken
by a United Nations expert in the com-
ing year. It wil also. be used in the
planning of a trausinsular road and
other projects requiring larger scales
than those of the existing island maps.
3. The local Land and Surveys De-
partment will be making certain points
on the ground air visible by crosses
made from locally available materials
and laid on the ground. Landowners are
asked to allow the Surveyors entry for
this public purpose and to preserve the
Crosses ,ntit completion of the, opera-
tioq in .Maxrch o, April.

EDUCATION NOTICES.

COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP
AND FELLOWSHIP PLAN.

INDIAN AWARDS FOR 1966-67.

The Government of India has .invited
application for the award of scholar-
ships and Fellowships tenable in India
to suitable men .and women, from all
Commonwealth countries.
2. ApplaCants should not have
reeh.e4, their -8th. birthday, on 1st
Og*be, 1966_ but preference will be


given to the candidates who are be-
tween 22 and 28 years of age. In
special circumstances the upper age
limit may be raised.
3. The Soholarships are primarily
meant for post-graduate study, and re-
search in any special field. Under-grad-
uate study is also permissible in cases
where particular programmes of study
are not available in a Commonwealth
.Country.
4. Awards are normally made for a
period .of two Academic years leading
to a University degree or a similar
qualification.
5. Each Scholarship / Fellowship
covers the expenses of travel, living and
study during its tenure.
S6. Scholars/Fellows are expected to
return to their own countries at the end
of their post-graduate or research work
in India. Further details may be ob-
tained from the Education Officer.
7. Candidates who wish to be con-
sidered for the award of a scholarship
or Fellowship must submit six copies
of the pesaribed application fornia.duly
completed and supporting documents
to the Training Division,, Miistry -of
Finance, not later than 15th December,

1965, No. 29.


IMPORTATION OF TOBACCO FROM RHODESIA.


(Gazetted 7th December, 1965.)


1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Import
(Rhodesian Tobacco) Regulations, 1965.
2. Prohibition. No tobacco either unmanufactured or manufactured
which has been grown or produced in Rhodesia may be imported into the
Colony: Provided that the Controller of Supplies may in his discretion permit
the importation of tobacco as aforesaid if he is satisfied that'such tobacco was
in transit at sea before the date of the commencement of these Regulations.


Made by the Administrator-in-Council under section 3 (1) of the Supplies
(Control) Ordinance 1954 (No. 10 of 1954) this 23rd day of November, 1965.
