2. At 11.00 a.m. a.gun will be fired
from Police Headquarters to in-
dicate the commencement of the
two minutes silence, and another
gun at 11.02 a.m. to denote the
termination of the silence.

Past".


5. Prayers.
6. Laying of Wreaths.
7. "Reveille".
8. National Anthem.

All Ex-service men should wear their

men may be worn by such relatives on
the right breast.
For the purpose of the Ceremony and
the silence to be observed at the War
Memorial, time will be taken by the
Cathedral Clock.
All persons are requested to observe
the two minutes silence at 11.00 a.m.
and all vehicular traffic and normal
activities should be suspended during
the silence.

PRESS RELEASE.

The St. Vincent Government has
decided to participate in two Commem-
morative Stamp Issues next year.
These are:-
(1) the omnibus issue of stamps to
be released on the 24th January,
1966, commemorating the life of
Sir Winston Churchill. These
will be of the 1 4, 20( and 40
denominations.
(2) the "Royal Visit to the Carib-
be an 19 6 6 Commemorative
Stamp" Issue which will be
issued in February 1966 on the
occasion of the visit to St. Vin-
cent of Her Majesty the Queen
and His Royal Highness the
Duke of Edinburgh. These
stamps will be of the 4 and 250
denominations.

POST OF SURVEYOR, LANDS AND SURVEYS
DEPARTMENT, GOVERNMENT OF
ST. VINCENT.

Applications are invited for appoint-
ment to the post of Surveyor, Lands
and Surveys Department, St. Vincent,
West Indies.
Surveyors, preferably not over forty-
five years of age will be required to
undertake surveying for cadastral pur-
poses, also surveying of a topographical
and engineering nature. Qualifications
are either Intermediate R.I.C.S. (Land
Surveying) or exemption therefrom; or
a licence to practise as a Surveyor in
Trinidad, Jamaica, British Guiana, or
any of the Windward or Leeward
Islands.
Salary will be in the scales:-
(a) Professionally qualified (Inter
R.I.C.S. and above) $4,680 x
$180-$5,040 x $240-$5,760/
$6,000 x $240-$6,720.
(b) Local Survey Licence only $3,876
x $180-$4,776.
The point of entry into the salary
scale will be dependent on qualifications
and experience.
Appointment Term:-On Contract for
one tour of three years. A gratuity of
12J% of salary earned will be payable
on the satisfactory completion of the
contract.
Candidates should submit applica-
tions giving full name, age, and parti-
culars of qualifications and experience
to the Chief Secretary, Government
Office, St. Vincent, to reach him not
later than 15th November, 1965.

EDUCATION NOTICES.
COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP AND
FELLOWSHIP PLAN
GHANA AWARDS-1966

The Government of Ghana is offering
scholarships for two year post-grad-
uate courses beginning from October,
1966.


2. Candidates must normally be
Commonwealth citizens or British
protected persons who are or, by the
time of taking up an award, will be
graduates of a University or College
in their own country, or holders of an
equivalent qualifications. Applications
will also be considered from candidates
without a degree or similar qualifica-
tion who wish to take a first degree
course of study in Ghana provided they
are normally resident in a country
where no university or college offers
courses in the subject of their choice.
3. Scholarships are open to both
men and women who will not have
reached their 35th birthday on 1st
October of the year in which they take
up the award. In special circum-
stances the upper age limit may be
raised.
4. Six copies of applications on the
prescribed forms should be addressed
to the Education Officer from whom
further details may be obtained, and
should reach the Education Department
not later than 30th November, 1965.

COMMONWEALTH

CEYLON AWARDS, 1966.

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for three Post Gradu-
ate Awards and three Under-Graduate
Awards offered by the Government of
Ceylon under the Commonwealth and
Fellowship Plan for 1966.
Applicants should be between the ages
o4 17 pud 35 years of age on 31st July,
1965, but in special circumstances this
age limit may be raised.
Further details may be obtained at
the Education Department.
Candidates who wish to be considered
for an award must submit one copy of
the prescribed form duly completed to-
gether with supporting documents to
the Education Officer, Education De-
partment, not later than 30th Novem-
ber, 1965.

the rental of Government equipment

equipment will be rented are as fol-
lows :-


1. Application must be made in
writing to the Supt. of Works
seven t7) clear days before the
date on .which .the equipment is
needed.
2. Equipment will be rented only if
not in use by the Public Works
or any other Government De-
partment. In case of any emer-
gency, equipment must be re-
turned to the P.W.D. on demand.
3. Heavy equipment such as Bull-
dozers, Traxcavators and Graders
will be rented only if in the
near vicinity of the applicant at
the time of application.
4. The applicant must agree to the
place on which the equipment is
to work being inspected by the
Tr..i, n,.d t 0'.,, or any author-
ized officer of the Department.
5. The Supt. of Works will supply
the equipment to the hirer to-
gether with all fuels, oils and
grease for the efficient operation
of the said equipment.
6. The Supt. of Works will also
supply honest, competent and
sober workmen to operate the
equipment and the said workmen
will be paid by the Supt. of
Works.
7. The workmen supplied by the
Supt. of W.orks for the operation
-f the ewq!ipment shall be under

men to operate the said equip-
ment.
8. The Hirer will pay in advance
the approved rates per day/hour
for the hire of the equipment. and
sign an approved agreement.
9. The Hirer will at his own expense
make good any loss or damage
occasioned to the equipment dur-
.ing the period of hire and shall
for such purpose insure the said
equipment with an Insurance
Company carrying on business
in the Colony.
10. The Hirer will provide fr pro-
per stabling of the equipment
after the day's work.
11. The Hirer will insure the work-
men to an amount sufficient at
least to satisfy any statutory
claim maintainable in respect of
the death of or any injury ,o ihe
said workmen arising from opera-
tion of said equipment.
12. Either party may determine the
Agreement at any time on giving
to the other not less than one
day's notice in writing for that
purpose.

DISCONNECTION OF WATER
SERVICES.

mence disconnection of water services

cordance with S.R. & O. No. 48 of 1957
of the Bequia District Council (Elec-
tion of Members) By-Laws, the four
Presiding Officers will be in atten-

tions in the four Wards of the I-land

passed by the Authority on the 30th
day of September, 1965, is published
for general information.

RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED and it is hercbv
resolved that the Central Housing and
Planning Authority has this 30th day
of September, 1965, decided to dezone
under the provision of Section 10 of the
Town and Country Planning Ordinance
No. 2 of 1946, for commercial purposes,
viz-Grocery or Dry Goods Store.

properties. which were sold at auction for arrears of Income Tax on Sep-
tember 18th 1965, will VEST absolutely in the purchasers' names unless the
owners, or any person or persons having an interest in the properties sold,
pay into the Treasury the purchase price plus ten per cent thereof before the
expiration of three (3) months from the date cf the sale.
