To assist the Director of Electricity
in the operation and maintenance and
repair of the electrical side of Diesel
and Steam Turbine power stations,

generating at 6.6kv and 11kv; the
construction, operation and mainten-
ance of H.V. and L.V. Transmission
and Distribution lines and services;
the inspection of such plant, lines and
services to the highest relevant stan-
dards.
4. Salary Scale:
$6,000 x 240-$6,720 per annum.

5. Allowances and other circumstances
affecting the value of the post (e.g.
transport allowance) :
Transport allowance at the rate of
$372 per annum and a mileage allow-
ance at the rate of 71 per mile.

time being in so far as they may be
applicable. The Officer will be liable

EDUCATION NOTICE.

GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF
EDUCATION EXAMINATION OF
THE UNIVERSITY OF LONDON.

It is hereby notified for the informa-
tion of interested persons that the Gen-
eral Certificate of Education Examina-
tion of the University of London will
be held in St. Vincent in June 1966.


Before applicants will be accepted as
candidates tor this examination, they
must be certified by the Education
Officer as fit to take it. For such pur-
pose, the Education Officer will require
evidence that the applicant has been
pursuing a suitable course of study.
Candidates may offer from one to ten
subjects at the Ordinary Level, and/or
from one to five subjects at the Ad-
vanced Level. They will be eligible for
a Certificate in respect of the subjects
in which they pass.
The fees now payable are as follows-
(i) An initial entry fee of seven
dollars and twenty cents.
(ii) An examination fee of two
dollars and forty cents per
subject at Ordinary Level,
and seven dollars and twenty
cents per subject at Advanced
Level.
(iii) A fee of four dollars per
person to cover the cost of
transportation of scripts to
London by air.

CENTRAL HOUSING AND
PLANNING AUTHORITY.

RESOLUTION giving notice of a
decision to prepare a Housing
Scheme for that portion of Crown
Lands, knows as Franklyn Village,
situated at Layou in the Parish of
St. Patrick, and to declare the said
portion of land a Housing Area.
Section 14 of the Slum Clearance and
Housing Ordinance No. 1 of 1946.
The following RESOLUTION which
was passed at a meeting of the Central
Housing and Planning Authority held
on the 30th day of September, 1965, is
published for general information.
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED and it is hereby
resolved that the Central Housing and
Planning Authority have this 30th day
of September, in the year 1965, decided
to prepare a Housing Scheme under the
provision of Section 14 of the Slum
Clearance and Housing Ordinance No. 1
of 1946, for-
ALL that parcel of land lying in
the Parish of Saint Patrick, at Layou,
being a portion of Crown Lands,
commonly known as "Franklyn Vil-
lage", measuring more or less 21
acres and bounded on the North by
the Leeward Highway, on the South
by lands of Owen Walker, on the
West by Reserve Lands and a road
and on the East by a road and lands
of W. Collis.
A plan of the portion of land referred
to bearing No. P-113, can be seen at the
office of the Crown Surveyor and at the
office of the Central Housing and Plan-
ning Authority.

BEACH PROTECTION (LAYOU BAY) ORDER.

(Gazetted 12th October, 1965.)

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Beach Protection (Layou
Bay) Order, 1965.
2. Interpretation. In this Order-
"the Ordinance" means the Beach Protection Ordinance, 1963, (No. 25 of
1963).
3. Amendment to the Schedule to the Ordinance. The Schedule to the
Ordinance is hereby amended as follows:-
(1) by numbering the paragraph therein as (1); and
(2) by adding thereto the following new paragraph-
"(2) All that beach or seashore known as Layoi- Bay lying between
the southern boundary of Jackson's Bay and the northern bank
of the Rutland river and situate in the Parish of Saint Patrick
in the Island of Saint Vincent."

Made by the Administrator in Council under section 2 (3) of the Beach
Protection Ordinance, this 28th day of September, 1965.
