EDUCATION NOTICES.

Admission in October, 1966 to
Universities through the Universities
Central Council on Admissions
(U.C.C.A.) Procedure

From 1st September, 1965 the admis-
sions procedure for overseas candidates
and' for candidates in the United King-
dom will be identical. All U.C.C.A.
applications except Oxford and Cam-
bridge must be submitted, therefore,
on 1966 U.C.C.A application forms in
time to reach the Secretary for Student
Affairs in London, not later than 1st
December, 1965.
2. Applications for Oxford' and
Cambridge must reach the Secretary
for Student Affairs not later than 1st
October, 1965. A Preliminary applica-
tion lfrim muzst also be sent direct to
Oxford and/or Cambridge if possible
before 15th July, 19(65, and prospective
applicants should write direct to
Oxford or Cambridge for such prelim-
inary forms.

MEASUiRE .

The Public is hereby reminded that
the dry season is now on, and that, as a


result there will be a shortage of water.
It is necessary therefore to take proper
care that water is not wasted, and sub-
scribers are requested to:-

I1) Ensure that all leaks to mains,
taps, screws, faucets, tanks etc.
are mended promptly;

2) Cease irrigating their crops with
pipe-borne water;

(3) Restrict the use of fountains, lily
ponds, roman baths, swimming
pools:

(4) Cease using public standpipes for
washing clothes and for bathing;
and

(5) Do all in their power to conserve
water.
