and to ,make recommendations for uni-
form salaries and conditions of service
throughout' the territories, having re-
gard to the cost of living in each terri-
tory and any other relevant local fac-
tors.

WATER SUPPLIES-DRY SEASON
MEASURES.



The Public is hereby reminded that
the dry season is now on, and that, as a
result there will be a shortage of water.
It is necessary therefore to take proper
care that water is not wasted, and sub-
scribers are requested to:-
(1) Ensure that all leaks to mains,
taps, screws, faucets, tanks etc.
are mended promptly;
(2) Cease irrigating their crops with
pipe-borne water;
(3) Restrict the use of fountains, lily
ponds, roman baths, swimming
pools; .


(4) Cease using public standpipes for
washing clothes and for bathing;
and
(5) Do all in their power to conserve
water.

Grammar School Old Boys' Association
has decided to award a Scholarship to
a Government Secondary School.

The Scholarship is open, and an
award is to be made this year (to a boy
or a girl) on the results of the Scholar-
ship Examinations conducted by the
Department of Education. Candidates
must therefore be entered by the Head-
teachers of their schools at the same
time that entries are submitted to the
Department for other Scholarships.
Copies of the rules governing the
award of the Scholarship are being


sent to the H-eadteachers of all Primary
Schools in the island and interested
persons are therefore requested to seek
further information from the Head-
teacher in their district or from the
Secretary of the Association, c/o In-
come Tax OfEce, Kingstown.

As a result of the enactment of Exchange Control legislation in British
Guiana, movements of currency notes by travellers from that Territory to other
Territories participating in the Currency Agreement appear to have become
abnormal since 1962 and the circulation in some Territories, on the basis of issues
less withdrawals, adjusted to take account of Bank transfers, has in consequence
become unrealistic and in fact misleading. It will be noted that the value of
notes withdrawn at St. Kitts exceeded those issued in that Territory.

Liability for Trinidad & Tobago Government notes outstanding at 14th
December, 1964 has been assumed by the Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago
and is therefore not included in the circulation for which the Board is liable.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (KENUTE GEORGE)
(MANUFACTURE OF FURNITURE) ORDER.


(Gazetted 4th May, 1965)


1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
(Kenute George) (Manufacture of Furniture) Order, 1965.

2. Declaration of Pioneer Manufacturer. Kenute George carrying on
business as a furniture manufacturer is hereby declared a pioneer manufac-
turer for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952, in
relation to his pioneer factory situate at Sion Hill in the Parish of Saint
George, and to the establishment, maintenance and operation in the Colony of
manufacturing plant for the manufacture of furniture (by the Aid to Pioneer
Industries (Manufacture of Furniture) Order, 1952 (S.R. & 0. 1952, No. 52)
declared to be a pioneer industry for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer
Industries Ordinance, 1952) with effect from the 18th day of August, 1964,
the production day in relation to the same being the 31st day of December,
1964.


Made by the Administrator in Council under Section 4 of the Aid to
Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952 (No. 5 of 1952) this 2nd day of February,
1965.
