(GRADUATE), ST. VINCENT GIRLS'
HIGH SCHOOL.



Appointment:
The post is pensionable, but appoint-
ment (non-pensionable) may be on con-
tract for a period of 3 years in the first
instance. The officer will be subject to
the Colonial Regulations and local Gen-
eral Orders for the time being in force
in so far as they are applicable. The
Appointment will be subject to medical
fitness. The successful candidate will
be required to assume duty in May,
1965.

Salary:
The salary is in the scale of $3,348 X
$144-$3,924 X $180-$5,004 X $240
-$5,484. The candidate may be ap-
pointed at a point in the scale commen-
surate with her qualifications and expe-
rience.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Degree
of a University within the British Com-
monwealth.

Quarters:
Quarters are not provided.

Passages:
Free passage to St. Vincent will be
provided.

General:
Government Officers are liable to tax-
ation imposed by local legislation.
Applications giving full particulars,
qualifications and experience of the ap-
plicant, and accompanied by three tes-
timonials (which will not be returned)
should be addressed to the Chief Secre-
tary, St. Vincent. and should reach him
not later than 15th April, 1965.

EDUCATION NOTICES.



Courses for Training of Craft
Instructors in India, 1965


The Government of India have in-
vited applications for the award of
bursaries, tenable in India for the
training of Craft Instructors.

2. The bursaries will be of 9 months
duration and will commence on 1st
November, 1965.

3. Applicants should be between
20 and 40 years of age, and should be
matriculates. They should also have
a knowledge of the trades which they
choose. Preference will be given to
Diploma / Certificate holders and / or
those employed as supervisors or
instructors.

4. Trades taught are: Blacksmith,
Draughtsman (Civil & Mech.), Electri-
cians, Grinder, Machinists, Fitter,
Mechanic Instrument, Mechanics
Motor, Moulder, Sheet metal worker,
Carpenter, Pattern-Maker, Turner,
Welder, Woodworker, Cutting and
Tailoring, Hand-weaving, Linesman
and wireman, Manufacturing of foot-
wear, Manufacturing of leather goods,
Embroidery and Needlework (for
women only).

5. Each Bursary covers expenses of
maintenance, tuition, examination,
books and certain medical fees. The
Government of India will not pay the
fare from and to the home country of
the Bursar.
6. A Bursar is expected to return to
his own country after the completion of
the course.

7. Candidates who wish to be con-
sidered for an award must submit one
copy of the prescribed application
form duly completed together with sup-
porting documents to the Education
Officer. Edliation Department, not
later than 15th April, 1965.

ADMISSION TO UNIVERSITIES
THROUGH THE UNIVERSITIES
CENTRAL COUNCIL ON
ADMISSIONS (U.C.C.A.)
PROCEDURE.


The Oxford and Cambridge Colleges
have decided to enter the U.C.C.A.
scheme for 1966. Applications for
admission to these institutions in 1966
must be submitted, therefore, on
U.C.C.A. forms in time to reach the
Secretary for Student Affairs in Lon-
don, not later than 1st October, 1965.
2. Where a candidate for Oxford
and Cambridge wishes to apply also for
admission to other Universities, these
must be included on the same applica-.
tion form.

PROFESSIONAL COURSE IN
TELECOMMUNICATION AND
ELECTRONIC ENGCTNEERING.

Norwood Tche-ical College, London,
offers a three year full time course in
Telecommunication and Electronic Tech-
nology leading to the College Diploma
which is recognized by the. Institute of
Electronic and Radio Engineers as giv-
ing complete exemption from its Gradu-
ateship examination.
2. Applicants are required to have
completed satisfactorily a G.C.E. A-level
course or equivalent, which included
Physics and Mathematics as main sub-
jects.
3. Students possessing G.C.E. O-level
passes in English, Mathematics and
Physics may be accepted for an alterna-
tive 4-year full time course enabling
them to take the external Graduateship
examinations of the Institute of Elec-
tronic and Radio Engineers.
4. Students attending either of the
above courses may sit the examination
for the City and Guilds of London In-
s;titute's Full Technological Certificate
in Telecommunication.
5. The fee for the Diploma Course is
30 per session of three terms. The fee
for the first session is payable on enrol-
ment. (Students are admitted free of
charge until the end of the session in
which they attain the age of 18 years.)
6. The new academic year begins on
Monday 13th September, 1965, and
those interested in obtaining further de-
tails regarding methods of application


for grants, scholarships etc., should
communicate with the Secretary, Nor-
wood Technical College, Knights Hill,
London, S.E. 27.

town, on Wednesday 28th day of April,
1965, at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon and
continuing for the purpose of hearing
Magisterial Appeals.

sons as are bound over by recognizance
to prosecute Appeals are hereby notified
and are commanded to give their per-
sonal attention and attendance.

POLICE NOTICE.


Regulation made by the Chief of Police
under section 79 (1) of the Motor
Vehicles and Road Traffic Ordin-
ance No. 20 of 1940.

It is notified for the information of
the General Public that the undermen-
tioned portion of road will be closed to
vehicular traffic for the purpose of ef-
feeting repairs, as from Monday 5th
April, 1965, until further notice.
Hillsboro Street, East of the Ceno-
taph between Middle Street and
Halifax Street (U.T.L. Corner).
Vehicles travelling along Hillsboro
Street from Bay Street, will turn right
into Middle Street.
