The Commission in the United King-
dom for the East Caribbean Govern-
ments has received a request for Stu-
dent Nurses and Nursing Assistants
from the Medical Director of Hospital
near Blackburn for mentally subnormal
children.


2. Candidates will be able to gain
experience and training in the speciality
of mental subnormality-a three-ye.r
course of training.
3. Applicants would need to have a
good education; additional qualities in-

derstandlng and devotion to duty at all

Evening Classes will start on Mon-
day. 4th May, 1964. Tuition will be
offered in the following subjects:-
English Language, English Litera-
ture, Mathematics, Geography, History,
Health Science, Religious Knowledge,
Cookery, and Needlework.
Classes in academic subjects will be
held at the Grammar School, and
Classes in Practical subjects at the
Housecraft Centre, Richmond Hill.
All students wishing to enrol must do
so at the Department of Education not
later than the 27th April, 1964.
All fees must be paid by the 30th
April, 1964.

The Public is hereby reminded that
in accordance with the Birds and Fish
Protection Ordinance Cap. 44 as
amended by Ordinance No. 18 of 1954,
it is prohibited to kill or take:-

Turtles.
(a) Turtles or turtle eggs on land;
(b) Turtles under 20 lbs. in
weight;
(c) Turtles between 1st May and
31st July.

Lobsters.
(a) Lobsters carrying eggs;
(b) Lobsters of less than 1 lb. in
weight;
(c) Lobsters of less than nine
inches length;

WATER NOTICE.

Water Subscribers with tanks for
collecting water from the public water
mains are advised that all tanks must
possess standard float valves and these
must always be kept in good repair.
Subscribers are only authorised to
store water in Tanks between the hours
of 11.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m.

NOTICE.

It is notified for genera' information
that, in accordance with the provisions
of Regulations 3, 8 and 18 (2) of
S.R. & 0. No. 11 of 1960, taxi drivers
and drivers of public service vehicles
operating for hire at the Arnos Vale
Airport are required, during periods of
aircraft movements, to remain with
their vehicles at the prescribed parking
place.
Taxis will be summoned from the
parking place, and dispatched with
passengers, in order of parking; except
in cases where passengers previously
request a specific taxi or taxi driver.
Any proven cases of overcharges or
other irregularities brought to the at-
tention of the Airport Manager will
render the driver liable to a ban from
operating at the Airport.

NOTICE IS IEREBY GIVEN THAT AN
ORDER IN COUNCIL gazetted on 28th
February, 1964 declares the Close Sea-
son for Cotton to be as follows:-
St. Vincent from 1st May, 1964 to
15th August, 1964.
St. Vincent Grenadines from 15tl!
April, 1964 to 30th June, 1964.


All cotton and ochro plants must be
destroyed before the Close Season com-
mences. Owing to the prevalence of
Pink Boll Worms, growers are asked
to pay particular attention to the clean-
ing up of their Cotton Houses and
Fields.
Any person not complying with the
Close Season Regulations will be liable
to prosecution.

As a result of the enactment of Exchange Control legislation in British
Guiana, movements of currency notes by travellers from that Territory to other
Territories participating in the Currency Agreement appear to have become
abnormal since 1962 and the circulation in some Territories, on the basis of
issues less withdrawals, adjusted to take account of Bank transfers, has in
consequence become unrealistic and in fact misleading.
