PLANNING AUTHORITY

RESOLUTION giving notice of a deci-
sion to prepare a Housing Scheme,
on a portion of the Orange Hill
Estate, situated in the parish of
Charlotte and to declare the por-
tion of land a Housing Area.
Section 14 of the Slum Clearance and
Housing Ordinance No. 1 of 1946.
The following RESOLUTION which
was passed at a Meeting of the Central
Housing and Planning Authority held
on the 30th day of May, 1963, is pub-
lished for general information.

RESOLUTION.
BE IT RESOLVED and it is hereby
resolved that the Central Housing and
Planning Authority have this 30th day
of May, 1963, decided to prepare a
Scheme under the provision of Section
14 of the Slum Clearance and Housing
Ordinance No. 1 of 1946 for
ALL that parcel of land lying in
the Parish of Charlotte and being a
portion of the Orange Hill Estate
inoaaring more or less Four Acres
o.c rood and thirty-two perches and
bounded on the North by The Callau
River on the South by a Track and
the Windward Highway on the East
by the Sea and on the West by the
Callau River a rocky outcrop and re-
maining lands of Orange Hill Estates
Ltd.

UNDER THE LIQUOR LICENCE4 ORDINANCE NO. 11 OF 1948.

It is notified for general information that the Quarterly Liquor Licensing
Session will be held in the undermentioned Parishes for the purpose of
hearing applications from new applicants in their respective Parishes, for the
granting of certificates in accordance with the provisions of the Liquor Licences
Ordinance, No. 11 of 1948, at the times and places stated hereunder:-

pensation (Egypt) (Final Distribu-
tion) Order 1963 (S.I. 365 of 1963) was
made on February 27th 1963 and came
into operation on March 4th, 1963. The
new Order cancels and replaces the
previous Interim Distribution Orders.
Interested persons can by appoint-
ment scrutinise the new Order at the
Registry Department.

LAYOU TOWN BOARD (CEMETERY) BY-L

(Gazetted 18th June, 1963).

1. Short Title. These By-Laws may be cited as the Layou Town Board
(Cemetery) By-Laws, 1963.

2. Schedule of Fees for interments, allotments, memorials, etc. The
following sums shall be paid to the Layou Town Board prior to any interment,
allotment of ground for the burial of persons other than paupers, or erection
of any memorial, enclosure or cross:-
For the-
(a) burial of the body of a person whose age at the time of


death exceeds 10 years ...............
(b) burial of the body of a person whose age at the time of
death is 10 years or under ...... ..........
(c) allotment of ground (4 ft. X 8 ft.) for the exclusive right
of burial therein ...............
(d) right to erect a memorial or cross-of material other than
wood on land not acquired ............
(e) right to erect a wooden cross on land not acquired
(f) paupers .......

(Amendment) (No. 2) Order in Council 1963
Made 11th April 1963

At the Court at Windsor Castle, the 11th day of April 1963
Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, by virtue of the powers conferred upon Her by
section 3 of the West Indies Act 1962(a) and all other powers
enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice
of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as
follows:-
1. This Order may be cited as the West Indies (Retire- Citation
ment and Compensation) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order in construction
and corn-
Council 1963 and shall be read and construed as one with the iencemnent.
the West Indies (Retirement and Compensation) Order in
Council 1962(b) (hereinafter called "the principal Order"),
as amended by the West Indies (Retirement and Compensa-
tion) (Amendment) Order in Council 1962(c) and the West
Indies (Retirement and Compensation) (Amendment) Order
in Council 1963(d), and shall come into operation on 20th
April 1963.
2.-(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the prin- Modification
cipal Order and subject to the provisions of paragraph (2) of of principal
this article, where an officer whose retirement has taken place Order.
pursuant to paragraph 5 of the Schedule to the principal
Order is eligible for the grant of, or has -been granted, in
pursuance of the provisions of that Schedule-
(a) a pension; or
(b) a pension and an additional pension,
and the amount of the unreduced pension or the aggregate
amount of the unreduced pension and the unreduced additional
pension, as the case may be, does not exceed 100, he may,
(a) 10 & 11 Eliz. 2. c. 19. (b) S.I. 1962/1085 (1962 II, p. 1232).

at his option exercisable not later than one month after his
redundancy date or after 20th May 1963 whichever is the
later, be granted in lieu of such pension or such pension and
additional pension a gratuity equal to the amount of the
unreduced pension or to the aggregate amount of the unre-
duced pension and the unreduced additional pension, as the
case may be, multiplied by the factor set out in Table I of the
Annex to that Schedule appropriate to his age at the date of
his retirement: -' 0 :

Provided that the amount of any sums that may have
been paid to him by way of pension, additional pension or
gratuity in pursuance of paragraph 6 (1) or 7 (2) of that
Schedule, shall be deducted from any gratuity payable under
this paragraph.
(2) Where benefits might ensure under the Widows' and
Children's Pensions Act 1960 of The West Indies as applied
and modified by the Interim Commissioner (Pensions) Regu-
lations 1962 to the widow of an officer and to his or her
children that officer shall not be entitled to exercise the option
referred to in paragraph (1) of this article.
(3) "Unreduced" in relation to a pension or an additional
pension means the full pension or full additional pension, as
the case. may be, without taking into account any reduction
for the purposes of effecting a partial commutation thereof
in pursuance of the provisions of the Schedule to the principal
Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

(This Note is not part of the Order, but is intended to indicate its. general
purport.)

This Order modifies the provisions of the West Indies- (Retiremerit and
Compensation) Order in Council 1962 in their application to the territories
of the former Federation of The West Indies other than Jamaica and
Trinidad and Tobago, in order to enable certain officers to commute the whole
of their pensions where the pensions do not exceed 100.
