TENDERS FOR INSURANCE OF
GOVERNMENT OWNED MOTOR
VEHICLES

Tenders are invited for the Insur-
ance of Government owned Motor Ve-
hicles for the period 21st March 1963
to 20th March 1964.
The number of vehicles for which
insurance is required is 120 and tenders
should include quotation; for insur-
ance against (a) Third Party Risks
(b) Third Party Fire and Theft.
The list of vehicles and insurable
value of each may be obtained on
request from the Accountant General.
Tenders which will be received up to
3.00 p.m. on Thursday 7th March, 1963
must be sealed and addressed to the
Chairman, Public Tenders Committee,
Ministry of Finance, Kingstown and
distinctly marked on the envelope
"Tender,; for the Insurance of Govern-
ment owned Motor Vehicles".
The Government does not bind itself
to accept the lowest or any tender and
reserves the power of accepting any
part of a tender.

VACANCY NOTICE.

Applications are invited for the post
of Headmaster, Dominica Grammar
School.
Appointment:
The appointment may be on con-
tract for three years or on the perma-
nent and pensionable establishment,
and is subject to a probationary pe-
riod, medical fitness and to Colonial
Regulations and to the local General
Orders in force for the time being.
Salary:
Salary is at the rate of $6,204
(B.W.I.) per annum, in the scale
$5,004 X $240-$,6444.
Qualifications required.
Degree of a recognized University.
2. Information as to duties of post
and conditions of service is obtainable,
on request from The Chief Secretary,
Government Office, St. Vincent.
3. Applications giving personal data
and accompanied by two recent testimo-
nials (not applicable to Public Officers)
should be submitted to the Administra-
tor, Dominica, not later than the 15th
February, 1963.

NOTICE is hereby given that a sit-
ting of the Supreme Court of the
Windward Islands and Leeward Islands
in its CRIMINAL JURISDICTION
will be held at the Court House in
Kingstown on Monday the 11th Febru-
ary, 1963 at 10.00 o'clock in the fore-
noon and continuing. All parties con-
cerned, also such persons as are bound
over by recognizance to prosecute
answer charges or give evidence or
summoned as Jurors or witnesses are
hereby commanded to give their per-
sonal attention and attendance.

INCOME TAX NOTICES.

To The General Public.

Every person concerned, not being a
Government Officer, is hereby reminded
that the latest date for the submission

of Income Tax Returns for assessment
in the year 1963 is the 31st March, and
that failure to give notice of charge-
ability is an offence against the Income
Tax Ordinance, rendering the person
concerned liable to a fine not exceeding
SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY
DOLLARS.

2. EVERY PERSON whose income
accruing in, derived from the Colony
or elsewhere and whether received in
the Colony or not for the preceding
year, exceeded the statutory limit of
$480.00 is required to submit a return
in the prescribed form notwithstand-
ing that on account of approved de-
ductions no tax may eventually be
chargeable, and particular attention
is directed to the fact that the term
"income" is deemed to include not only
money but also allowances in kind.

3. Efforts are being made to send
forms to such persons. It is to be
clearly understood, however, that the
Income Tax Department is under no
obligation to send a return form to any-
one and that a person is not exonerated
from the statutory liability of making a
return even though a form may not
have been received from the Depart-
ment. Forms may be obtained, on ap-
plication, at the Revenue Offices at
Georgetown, Barrouallie, Bequia and
Union Island, or in any other district
from the Police Station situated therein
or from the Income Tax Department,
Kingstown, where any person requir-
ing information in connection therewith
is invited to enquire.

4. The Form correctly completed,
should be accompanied by all necessary
supporting statements. Specimens of
the form of Account required from
small traders and from occupiers or


cultivators of land will be supplied on
request.

District will hold a Special Session at
the Court House, Kingstown, on Wed-
nesday 20th February 1963 at 9.30 in
the forenoon, for the purpose of hear-
ing appeals for which due notice shall
have been given against Assessments
published in the Assessment Lists for
the town of Kingstown, with respect to
the year 1963.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (OWEN THEOPHILUS ROGERS)
(MANUFACTURE OF CONCRETE BLOCKS AND TILES) ORDER.


(Gazetted 5th February, 1963).


1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
(Owen Theophilus Rogers) (Manufacture of Concrete Blocks and Tiles)
Order, 1963.

2. Declaration of Pioneer Manufacturer. Owen Theophilus Rogers, of
Kingstown Park, in the town of Kingstown in the Island of Saint Vincent is
hereby declared a pioneer manufacturer for the purposes of the Aid to
Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952, (No. 5 of 1952) in relation to his factory
situated at Kingstown Park aforesaid and to the manufacture of Concrete
Blocks and Tiles (by the Aid to Pioneer Industries (Manufacture of Concrete
Blocks and Tiles) Order, 1958 (S.R. & O. No. 32 of 1958) declared to be a
pioneer industry), with effect from the 14th day of June, 1962.

3. Production Day. The production day shall be deemed to have been
the 14th day of June, 1962.


Made by the Administrator in Council under the authority of section 4
of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952, (No. 5 of 1952) this 1st day
of February, 1963.
