STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS,

1962, No. 23.

SHOPS (HOURS OF OPENING AND EMPLOYMENT) (TEMPORARY)
ORDER.

(Gazetted 21st November, 1962.)

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Shops (Hours of Opening
and Employment) (Temporary) Order, 1962, and shall be read as one with the
Shops (Hours of Opening) Order, 1942, contained in the First Schedule to the
Shops (Hours of Opening and Employment) Ordinance, 1942 (No. 1 of 1942)
and the Hours of Employment (Shop Limitation) Order, 1942, contained ip the
Second Schedule to the said Ordinance as from time to time amended, which
'Orders as amended are hereinafter referred to as the principal Orders.
2. Permission to remain open outside closing hours on the 21st November,
1962. Notwithstanding anything contained in the principal Orders, shops,
where retail trade or business is carried on in Kingstown and within a radius
of two miles therefrom, are hereby authorised to remain open today, Wednes-
day the 21st day of November, 1962, for the transaction of such business with
the public until 6.30 o'clock in the afternoon:
Provided that no person ordinarily employed in any such shop shall be
required to attend after the hour prescribed by the principal Orders except
with his consent:
Provided also that persons so employed and attending shall be paid for
such attendance in respect of the additional hours worked at the rate agreed
with the employer over and above the normal wages of such persons, or at the
rate of 60 cents per hour whichever is greater.

Made by the Administrator in Council under Sections& 3, 4 and 10 of the
Shops (Hours of Opening and Employment) Ordinance, 1942 (No. 1 of 1942)
this 21st day of November, 1962.
