IN THE MATTER OF THE ACQUISITION by the Administrator in Council
of a certain parcel of land at Belmont in the Parish of St. George for a public
purpose.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND.

(SECOND PUBLICATION.)

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
1946 (No. 22 of 1946) that if the Administrator in Council considers that any
land shoUld be acquired for a public purpose he may cause a declaration to
that effect to be made:
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Administrator in Council that the
undermentioned pdicel of land should be acquired for a public purpose, to wit,
the erection of a primary School to serve the public in the Belmont/Calder
area:
Now IT Is HEREBY DECLARED by His Honour the Administrator acting in
accordance with the advice of the Executive Council of the Colony of Saint
Vincent that upon the second Publication of this Declaration in the Gazette all
that parcel of land at Belmont in the Parish of St. George the property of Heirs
of Adrianna Scott (Charles Vanloo et alia) measuring three roods thirty one
point six perches in area and bounded on the North by remaining lands of the
said Adrianna Scott and the Eyrie Hill Public Road on the South by the Vigie
Highway on the West by a 12 feet wide reserve to the said lands of Heirs-
Adrianna Scott shall vest absolutely in the Crown.
AND IT Is HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that a plan bearing
the Number G4/130 showing the above mentioned parcel of land has been pre-
pared by H. Neblett, Licensed Land Surveyor and lodged on the 24th day of
March 1962 at the Lands and Surveys Department of Kingstown in the said
Colony and can be inspected at all reasonable hours at the said Department.

Information has reached this Ministry
that there are rumours circulating the
territory to the effect that the Govern-
ment proposes to impose import duties
on certain goods imported by Messrs.
Geest Industries for use in connection
with the Banana Export Industry.
In order that no further credence
may be given to these rumours which
can only be regarded as malicious, it is
announced that the Administrator-in-
Council has recently agreed to the ex-
emption from import duties of all the
following items when imported by
Messrs. Geest Industries for the purpose
of the Banana Export Industry viz.
