TIVE UNION LIMITED.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR COLONIAL STUDENTS
IN CO-OPERATION TO THE CO-OPERATIVE
COLLEGE, STANFORD HALL, LOUGH-
BOROUGH, LEICESTERSIIIRE, ENGLAND.

A scholarship is being awarded
jointly by the British Council and the
Co-operative Union Ltd., which provide
one full session of three terms residen-
tial study at the British Co-operative
College, Stanford Hall, commencing 8th
October, 1962. For the 1962/63 session
it is intended that the area for recruit-
ment for this scholarship should be con-
fined to North Borneo, St. Vincent
(Windward Islands), Northern Rhode-
sia and Basutoland.

GENERAL INFORMATION.
Period of Scholarship:
Session opens 8th October, 1962.
Session ends 29th June, 1963.
Value of Scholarship:
The value of the scholarship will
be sufficient to cover:-
(a) The cost of travel to and from
Great Britain.
(b) The cost of tuition and accom-
modation at the Co-operative
College (225).
(c) A student personal allowance
during term time (110 for 32
weeks).


(e) A student personal allowance
for the period between the
date of arrival in Great Bri-
tain and commencement of
first term at the College: and
also for the period between the
end of session and the actual
date of departure from Great
Britain (provided the student
takes the first available return
passage after the end of ses-
sion).

Age:
The award is intended for an adult
student with some practical experi-
en:ce of consumer co-operation.
Education Attainment:
The applicant should be proficient
enough in English to follow the stu-
dies proposed and capable of profiting
by them.

Medical Fitness:

required to produce a medical certifi-
cate before the opening of session,
that he is not suffering from any dis-
ease which will interfere with his own
studies or with the welfare of other
students.

Course:
The course will b the usual one
year course covering co-operation in all
its aspects, with special emphasis on
consumer co-operation.

It is hereby notified for general in-
formation that supplies of fertile eggs
of the Rhode Island Red and White
Leghorn breeds suitable for hatching
are now available at the following Dis-
trict Stud Centres:-
(a) Botanic Gardens
(b) Rivulet
(c) Layou
(d) Belmont
(e) Three Rivers
These eggs are from selected import-
ed breeding stock of high producing
strain.
Interested persons may contact their
District Agricultural Officer or the
stockman in charge of the Stud Centres
from whom supplies may be obtained.

COTTON PROTECTION (CLOSE SEASON) ORDER.


(Gazetted 3rd April, 1962.)


1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Cotton Protection (Close
Season) Order, 1962.
2. Close Season. The period beginning on the 1st day of May, 1962,
and ending on the 15th day of August, 1962, for the Island of Saint Vincent,
and the period beginning on the 15th day of April, 1962, and ending on the
30th day of June, 1962, for the St. Vincent Grenadines shall be close seasons
within the meaning of the Cotton Protection Ordinance, (Cap. 37).


Made by the Administrator in Council under section 3 of the Cotton Protec-
tion Ordinance (Cap. 37) this 2nd day of April, 1962.
