it is intended that the area for recruit-
ment for this scholarship should be con-
fined to North Borneo, St. Vincent
(Windward Islands), Northern Rhode-
sia and Basutoland.
Period of Scholarship:
Session opens 8th October, 1962.
Session ends 29th June, 1963.
Value of Scholarship:
The value of the scholarship will
be sufficient to cover:-
(a) The cost of travel to and from
(b) The cost of tuition and accom-
modation at the Co-operative,
(c) A student personal allowance
during term time (110 for 32
(d) A student personal allowance
during vacation periods of

(e) A student personal allowance
for the period between the
date of arrival in Great Bri-
tain and commencement of
first term at the College: and

Ed ication Attainment:
The applicant should be proficient
enough in English to follow the stu-
dies proposed and capable of profiting

ease which will interfere with his own

INCOMEE TAX NOTICE.
To The General Public.
Every person concerned, not being a
Government Officer, is hereby remind-
ed that the latest date for the submis-
sion of Income Tax Returns for assess-
ment in the year 1962 is the 31st March,
and that failure to j've notice of
chargeability is an offence against the
Income Tax Ordinance, rendering the
person concerned liable to a fine not
exceeding SEVEN HUNDRED AND
2. EVERY PERSON whose income
accruing in, derived from the Colony
or elsewhere and whether received in
the Colony or not for the preceding
year, exceeded the statutory limit of
$480.00 is required to submit a return
in the prescribed form notwithstand-
ing that on account of approved de-
ductions no tax may eventually be
chargeable, and particular attention is
directed to the fact that the term
"income" is deemed to include not only
money but also allowances in kind.
3. Efforts are being made to send
forms to such persons. It is to be
clearly understood, however, that the
ucomn Tax Department is under no
obligation to send a return form to
anyone and that a person is not exon-
erated from the statutory liability of
making a return even Though a form
may not have been received from the
Department. Forms may 1b obtained,
on application at the Revenue Offices
at Georgetown, Barrouallic, Bequia
and Union Island, or in any other dis-
trict from the Police Station situate
therein or from the Income Tax De-
partment, Kingstown, where any per-
son requiring information in connec-
tion therewith is invited to enquire.
4. The form correctly completed,
should be accompanied by all neces-
sary supporting statements. Specimens
of the form of account required from
small trarlrs and from occupiers or
cultivators of land will be supplied on
