that effect to be made:

undermentioned parcel of land should be acquired for a public purpose, to wit,
the improvement of the Public Road at Kingstown Park:
Now IT Is HEREBY DECLARED by His Honour the Administrator acting in
accordance with the advice of the Executive Council of the Colony of Saint
Vincent that upon the Second Publication of this Declaration in the Gazette all
that parcel of land at Kingstown Park in the Parish of St. George the property
of the Estate of Atheline Matthews measuring 600 square-feet in.-area and
bounded on"the North by the remaining lands of the said Estate of Atheline
Matthews on the South and East by a Public Road on the West by a Public
Bye-road shall vest absolutely in the Crown.
AND IT IS HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that a plan bearing
the Number G3/88 showing the above mentioned parcel of land has been

that parcel of land at Kingstown Park in the Parish of St. George the property
of the Heirs of Nathaniel Gardner measuring 4,318 square feet in area and
bounded on the North by E. Browne on the South and East by the Heirs of
Nathaniel Gardner on the West by the Kingstown Park/Montrose Public Road
shall vest absolutely in the Crown.

AND IT Is HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that a plan bearing
the Number G3/91 showing the above mentioned parcel of land has been pre-
pared by H. Neblett, Licensed Land Surveyor and lodged on the 25th day of

VACANCIES FOR JUNIOR AGRICULTURAL
INSTRUCTORS, DEPAlTMENT OF
AGRICULTURE, ST. VINCENT,
WEST INDIES.

Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified candidates for three
vacant posts of Junior Agricultural
Instructor in the Department of Agri-
culture. Applicants who have passed
the Cambridge School Certificate with
credits in Science subjects or the Gen-
eral Certificate of Education with passes
in Science subjects at Advanced or
Ordinary level will be given preference
when applications are considered.
The appointments are non-pensionable
and will be for a probationary period of
one year in the first instance.
The salary of the posts is $1,032 X
$84 X $1,284 X $96-$1,572 per annum.
Travelling Allowance is also payable in
aeccrcdanc' with local regulations in
respect of a means of transport approved
by the Administration.
Quarters are not provided nor any
allowance in lieu thereof.
The duties of the posts include the
development and general supervision of
peasanLt agriculture with special refer-
ence to soil conservation, land usage,
co-operative processing and marketing
of crops, livestock development, the ad-
ministration of laws relating to agricul-
ture and such other duties as may be
required to be performed from time to
time.
The successful candidate will be sub-
ject to the Colonial Regulations, Gen-
eral Orders and Financial and Store
Rules of the Windward Islands and to
the various Ordinances and subsidiary
legislation in force in the Colony in as
far as they are applicable.

The Hong Kong Government proposes to award two two-year scholarships
each for post-graduate study or research. These scholarships will be tenable

and will pay the usual charges, which the maintenance allowance will cover.
An additional maintenance allowance of 80 per month will be paid to a
married scholar (who will have to find his own accommodation) provided that
he is married at the time of submitting his application. His wife's passage
also will be paid for only on the same condition.

Qualifications
Candidates must be Commonwealth citizens, and possess a University
degree. They must be under 35 on 1st October, 1962.
Candidates whose native language is not English will be required to
produce satisfactory evidence that they have sufficient competence in English.
Scholars will be expected to reside in Hong Kong throughout the period of
tenure of the scholarship, though they may leave for short periods with the
permission of the University authorities. They may not undertake paid
employment without consent of the Hong Kong Government.
Immigration
Scholars must comply with the normal requirements.
