Post of Water Works Mechanic, Public
Works Department.

Applications are invited for the va-
cant post of Water Works Mechanic,
P.W.D., which carries a salary scale of
$2,052 x $96-$2.148/$2,292 x $144-
$2,580. Point of entry in the scale will
depend on the qualifications and expe-
rience of the applicant. The post is at
present non-pensionable, but steps will
be taken in due course to declare it pen-
sionable.
Applicants should have a sound ele-
mentary education, and not less than
six years practical experience in plumb-
ing and pipefitting. A working know-
ledge of steel pipes lined with bitumas-
tic in and out and with Johnson cou-
plings, and of air valves, main water
lines and screw pipes 3" to 61/2" is a
necessity. Preference will be given to
applicants possessing a Diploma or
Certificate in this line of work from a
recognized University or Training
School.
The duty of the successful applicant
will be to assist the Engineering Assis-
tant (Works) in the improvement and
maintenance of the Island's Water
System.
Applications with certified copies of
certificates etc., and testimonials
should be addressed to the Chief Sec-
retary, Government Office, to reach
him not later than 30th June, 1961.

It is notified for general information that the quarterly liquor Licensing
