IN THE MATTER OF THE LAND ACQUISITION ORDINANCE 1946.
(No. 22 of 1946)
NOTIFICATION OF PRELIMINARY SURVEY
(Under Section 4 of the Ordinance)
WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance (No.
22 of 1946) that if the Governor in Council considers that any land may be
required for a public purpose and it is necessary to make a preliminary survey
or other investigation of the land, he may cause a notification to that effect to
be published in the Gazette:
AND WHEREAS the Governor-in-Council considers that a portion of land
approximately one acre in extent at Owia in the Parish of Charlotte being
the property of Hilda S. Abbott is likely to be acquired for a public purpose,
to wit, erection of a school.
AND WHEREAS it is necessary to make a preliminary survey and other in-
vestigation of the said portion of land.
Now THEREFORE, this is to require all persons interested to allow Mr. Henry
Neblett the Authorised Officer (and his agents, assistants and workmen) to
do all or any of the following things, that is to say:-
(a) to enter upon and survey and take levels of the said portion of
land in the above mentioned locality;
(b) to set out the boundaries of the land intended to be acquired;
(c) to mark levels and lines by placing marks and cuttings trenches;
(d) where otherwise the survey cannot be completed or the bound-
aries set out or levels taken, to cut down and clear away any
standing crop, fence, tree or bush;
(e) to do all such other acts as.may be incidental to or necessary for
any of the purpose aforesaid.

POST OF SENIOR MECHANIC, PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT, ST. VINCENT.

Applications. are invited for the
vacant post of Senior Mechanic, Public
Works Department, which carries salary
in the: scale $2,292 X 144 $3,300.
Point of entry will depend on the quali-
fications and experience of the appli-
caut. The post is at present non-
pensionable, but steps will be taken in
Sdue course to declare it pensionable.
AppligaIs. mu~t have a sound elemen-
tary ediwation and at least ten years
practical experience. in a recggnised
garage or general repidr shop 'with
knowledge- of the ii maintenance of
modern Disel engines and heavy equip-
ment. A Diploma or Certificate from
a recognized training school will be an
advantage.
Duties will include the overhaul and-
maintenance of various Public Works
Department equipment, including light.
and heavy trucks, Land Rovers, Motor
Rollers, Stone Crushers, Concrete
Mixers etc., etc.
Applications, which should be accom-
panied by certified copies of Certificates
and testimonials should be addressed to
the Chief Secretary, Government- Office,
to reach him not later than 30th June,
1961.

TENNIS) (MANUFACTURE OF CONCRETE BLOCKS
AND TILES) ORDER.



(Gazetted 30th May, 1961.)


1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
(Isaac Newton Tannis) (Manufacture of Concrete Blocks and Tiles) Order, 1961.
2. Declaration of Picneer Manufacturer. Isaac Newton Tannis is here-
by declared a pioneer manufacturer for the purpose of the Aid to Pioneer Indus-
tries Ordinance, 1952, in relation to his pioneer factory situated at Port Elizabeth
in the Island of Bequia and to the establishment, maintenance and operation of
manufacturing plant for the manufacture of concrete blocks and tiles (by the
Aid to Pioneer Industries) (Manufacture of Concrete Blocks and Tiles) Order,
1958, (S.R. & O. 1958, No. 32) declared to be a pioneer industry for the purposes
of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952) with effect from 18th March,
1961, and the production day in relation to the same shall be the 1st day of June,
1961.


Made by the Administrator in Council under Section 4 of the Aid to Pioneer
Industries Ordinance, 1952 (No. 5 of 1952) this 24th day of May, 1961.
