CAMDEN PARK EXPERIMENTAL
STATION.

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified candidates for appointment to
the post of Agricultural Officer (Re-
search), Camden Park Experimental
Station, Department of Agriculture, St.
Vincent, particulars of which are as fol-
lows:-
Appointment
The post is on the permanent and
pensionable establishment.
Duties:
The duties of the officer will be
those assigned to him by the Superin-
tendent of Agriculture to whom he
will be directly responsible. The du-
ties will include the general adminis-
tration of 100 iai" Camden Park Ex-
periment Station with the direction
and Supervision of subordinate staff.
Investigational work with all aspects
of cultiTtidn and testirig of a wide
range of cash crops arid food crops
and the compiling of the necessary
statistics. Sut vision of the man-
agement of livestock, comprising
breeding stock of cattle, pig, goAts,
sheep arid poUtltry of the Stati:n.

Allowances:
Travelling and Subsistence Allow-
ances are payable in accordance with
local regulations, in respect of ap-
proved travel on duty.
Quarters:
Quarters are provided at the Sta-
tion for which rental will be charged
at the rate of 10% of salary or 5% of
the assessed value of the quarters,
whichever is less.
Passages:
Free passages to St. Vincent will be
provided on first appointment for the
officer, his wife and children not ex-
ceeding five persons in all. Children
to be under 18 years of age, unmar-
ried and dependent on the officer. In
the case of a contract appointment,
free passages will be provided on the
satisfactory termination of the con-
tract.
Leave and Leave Passages:
Vacation leave on full salary will
be granted in accordance with local
leave regulations. In the case of a
contract appointment, vacation leave
will be granted at the rate of one
week for each completed period of
three months resident service. Such
leave to be taken on the satisfactory
termination of the contract.
Leave passages are provided in ac-
cordance with local Leave Passages
Regulations.
Medical Attention:
Free medical attention and medi-
cines are not provided.
Taxation:
All Government officials are liable
to taxation imposed by local enact-
ments.
General:
The officer will be subject to the
Colonial Regulations, local General
Orders, and Financial and Stoie
Rules, and to the relevant Ordinances
and subsidiary legishtion in foee for

WATER NOTICES.
TAMiERING WITH WATER DISTRIBUTION
SYSTEM.

The public is hereby reminded that
it is an offence for unauthorised persons
to tamper with the Water Distribution
System. There have recently been in-
stances of interference with-Stop Cocks
and, as a result, water in certain dis-
tricts was shut off without the knowledge
of the Department.
Any person found tampering with the
distribution in future will be prosecuted.

The year 1960 being an enumeration
year lists of electors shall be compiled
in each electoral district of all persons
entitled under the provisions of the
Legislative Council (Elections) Ordin-
ance, 1951, to vote at the election of a
member of the Legislative Council for
such districts.
His Honour the Administrator has
by Proclamation declared October the
26th as the "Appointed Day" i.e. the
day on which enumeration and the com-
piling of the preliminary lists shall be-
gin.
On the 1st day of December these
lists will be posted up in the various
places in each polling division, and will
remain posted up for a period of twenty
days. During this time, every person

WHEREAS it is provided by Rule 2 of the Registration Rules contained in the
Second Schedule to the Legislative Council (Elections) Ordinance, 1951, (No. 13
of 1951) that the Governor may by Proclamation appoint a day called "the
appointed day" on which registration officers of electoral districts shall commence
the preparation of preliminary lists of all persons who are qualified as electors in
the polling divisions comprised in such electoral districts:
AND WHEREAS it is-expedient that the preparation of the said preliminary lists
should be undertaken as soon as possible:
Now I Do THEREFORE proclaim and notify that Wednesday the Twenty-sixth
day of October, 1960, shall be "the appointed day" within the meaning, and for
the purpose of, the said Rule, and all registration officers are hereby required to
take notice and govern themselves accordingly.

GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony of Saint Vincent at
Government Office in the said Colony, this Twentieth day of October, in
the year of Our Lord One thousand nine hundred and sixty and in the
Ninth Year of the Reign of Her Majesty QUEEN ELIZABTEH THE
SECOND.

WHE.rEA by section 7 of the Bank Holidays Ordinance, Cap. 161, it is enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time, by
Proclamation in the Gazette, to appoint a special day to be observed as a Bank
Holiday throughout the Colony:
AND WEREAs it is meet that a day should be set apart at the close of the
Hurricane Season for General Thanksgiving for our preservation from the
elements and for other blessings vouchsafed to us to be duly observed in all
Churches, Chapels and other places of worship:
Now THEREFORE I do, with the advice of the Executive Council and pursuant
to the authority in me vested by the said Ordinance, hereby appoint. Monday, the
7th day of November, 1960, to be observed as a Bank Holiday throughout the
Colony, so that it may be set apart for General Thanksgiving as aforesaid.
GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony of Saint Vincent
this 25th day of October in the Year of Our Lord One thousand nine
hundred and sixty and in the Ninth year of the Reign of Her Majesty
QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND.
