should be acquired for a public purpose he may cause a declaration to that
effect to be made.
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor in Council that the under-
mentioned parcel of land should be acquired for a public purpose, to wit,
improvement of the Leeward Highway.
Now IT Is HEREBY DECLARED by His Honour the Administrator acting in ac-
cordance with the advice of the Executive Council of the Colony of Saint Vincent
that upon the second Publication of this Declaration in the Gazette all
that parcel of land at Camden Park in the Pari-:h of St. Andrew the property
of Thomas Lavia measuring 7,191 square feet ii area and boun'ded on the
north, south and west by the Leeward Highway and on the east by remaining
lands of Thomas Lavia shall vest absolutely in the Crown.
AND IT Is HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that a plan bearing
the Number A1/110 showing the abovementioned parcel of land has been
prepared by L. W. Sandy Licensed Land Surveyor and lodged on the 15th
day of May 1959 at the Land and Surveys Department of Kingstowii-r--the
said Colony and can bc inspected at all reasonable hours at the said, D epat.ent.

of the respective persons set out in the schedule hereto shall vest absolutely in
the.Crown.
AND IT Is HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that a plan bearing
the Nmuber A109 showing the above mentioned parcels of land has been pre-
pared by G. E. D. Daisley Licensed Land Surveyor and lodged on the 17th
day of June 1959 at the Lands and Surveys Department of Kingstown in the
said Colony and can be inspected at all reasonable hours at the said Department.

Evelyn Joshua measuring 915 square feet in area and bounded on the north

the number D2/7 showing the above mentioned parcel of land has been prepared
by G. E. Daisley Licensed Land Surveyor and lodged on the 5th day of August
1959 at the Land and Surveys Department of Kingstown in the said Colony
and can be inspected at all reasonable hours at the said Department.

PROPAGATION STATION, ST. VINCENT.

Applications' are invited for the post
of Propagator Attendant, Wallilabou
Propagation Station, St. Vincent under
the Cocoa Propagation Scheme D 4296.


The appointment will be for six months
in the first instance but there is every
possibility that the Scheme will be con-
tinued after 31st March, 1961, as a
charge on the local budget.
The salary of the post is in the scale
$768 x $60-$1,068 per annum plus
20% salary addition.
Quarters are not provided.
The duties of the post will include
all aspects of nursery management and
Cocoa propagation and such other du-
ties as the Cocoa Officer may prescribe.

VACANT POST OF ASSISTANT TO THE
PLANT PROTECTION OFFICER-DEPART-
MENT OF AGRICULTURE.

Applications are invited for the non-
pensionable post of Assistant to the
Plant Protection Officer under Colonial
Development and Welfare Scheme
D. 4254 in the Department of Agricul-
ture for a period of 6 months in the first
instance, with the possibility of the post
being placed on the permanent Estab-
lishment after 31st March, 1961.
2. The salary of the post is at the
rate of $1,200.00 in the grade $1,200.00
x $72-$1,392.00. A 20% cost of living
allowance is also payable.
3. Duties will entail work mainly on
insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and
generally assisting the Plant Protection
Officer and the farming community with
pest and disease problems.
4. Candidates in possession of the
Cambridge School Certificate with
credits in Chemistry and Botany, Zo-
ology and Biology, or the General Cer-
tificate of Education with passes in
these subjects at Advanced or Ordinary
level will be preferred.
5. Applications giving full particu-
lars of the candidate, together with re-
ferences as to qualifications and sup-
ported by two testimonials should be in
the applicant's own handwriting and
should be addressed to the Chief Secre-
