SUPERNUMERARY VETERINARY
OFFICER.

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified candidates preferably bache-
lors, for appointment to the post of
Supernumerary Veterinary Officer for
Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Vincent, par-
ticulars of which are as follows:-
Appointment:
The post is at present non-pension-
able. The Officer will be subject to
the Colonial Regulations, local Gen-
eral Orders, Financial and Store
Rules and all such regulations, as may
from time to time be in force.
Salary:
The salary is in the scale $3,S40
x $120-$4,800 (800 x 25--1,000)
per annum, plus a pay addition of
20% of salary.
Allowances:
Travelling and Subsistence allow-
ances will be payable in accordance
with local regulations in respect of
approved travel on duty.
Quarters:
Quarters are not provided, but in
the event of Gocvernment quarters
being available the officer will be re-
quired to pay rental not exceeding
10% of his salary.
Leave and Leave Passages-:
Vacation leave will be granted at
the rate of 45 days for each completed
period of 12 months resident service,
accumulable up to 180 days.
Leave passages will be granted in
accordance with local regulations.
Passages:
Free passages to the Windward
Islands will be provided for the officer

and, if married, his wife and children
not exceeding 5 persons in all; chil-
dren to be under 18 years of age, un-
married and dependent on the officer.
Duties:
The officer will have his headquar-
ters in Grenada but will be required
for duty in any of the three Islands.
He will be responsible to the Chief
Secretary but will be under the con-
trol of the Superintendent of Agri-
culture of the Colony in which he is
for the time being serving.
Medical attcndacnc:
Free medical attendance and medi-
cines are not provided.
Taxation:
All Government officers are liable
to taxation imposed by local legisla-
tion.
Applications giving full details of
qualifications and experience of candi-
date, and accoinpaniel by two testimo-
nials, should be addressed to the Chief
Secretary, Windward Islands, and
should reach him not later than the 15th
December.

CARIBBEAN TRAINING PROGRAMME
IN PEURTO RICO.

1959-1960.

Applications are invited for the fol-
lowing Courses offered by the Interna-
tional Co-operation Administration in
association with the Government of the
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, to be
held in Puerto Rico commencing about
the middle of January, 1959.
Applications are to be sent to the Edu-
cation Officer, Department of Education,
and must reach him on or before Satur-
day, 13th December, 1958.
Applicants must state age, education,
experience, if any, in the trade in which
training is required, present occupation,
position and responsibilities to be as-
sumed on completion of training and
objectives to be achieved by the training.

PAYMENT OF SALARIES FOR DECEMBER,

It is hereby notified that salaries and
other allowances payable to Government
Employees during the month of Decem-
ber, 1958, will be paid at the Treasury,
Kingstown, or District Revenue Offices,
on Friday 19th December, 1958.


PAYMENT OF PENSIONS AND ALLOW-
ANCES FOR DECEMBER, 1958.

It is hereby notified that all allow-
ances payable to Pensioners from the
funds of the Colony in respect of the
month of December, 1958, will be paid
at the Treasury, Kingstown, or District
Revenue Office, on Monday, 22nd De-
cember, 1958.


PAYMENT OF CLAIMS FOR DECEMBER,
1958.

Contractors, Merchants and all other
persons having claims against the Gov-
ernment of St. Vincent are hereby re-
quested to forward such claims to the
Government Departments concerned on
or before the 15th day of December,
1958, in order to ensure the payment
thereof before the close of the current
financial year at 31st December next.
2. Similarly, all persons indebted to
the Government of St. Vincent for goods
supplied or services rendered are hereby

NOTICE.

SMALLPOX VACCINATION.

The public is notified that under the
Vaccination Act it is an offence not to
have a child vaccinated against Small-
pox within 3 months of the registration
of its birth.
Government intends to ensure that
the community continues to be fully
protected against the disease by the
vaccination of every infant and will
take steps to prosecute the parents of
children not so vaccinated.

25% on application at the Ginnery on

1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Education
(Kingstown Preparatory School) (Amendment) Regulations, 1958, and shall be
read as one with the Education ( aratory School) Regulations,
1948 (S.R. & O. 1948, No. 69) (hre r dr_. to the principal Regulations)
and all amendments thereto.

1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions
(Amendment) Regulations, 1958, and shall be read as one with the Pensions
Regulations, 19 led in the First Schedule to the Pensions Ordinance,
