CANCELLATION OF APPOINTMENT.
With reference to Government Notice
No. 314 of 1st July, 1958, the appoint-
ment of Mr. A. DERIGGS, Land and H-ouse
Tax Bailiff, Inland Revenue Depart-
ment, as Crown Lands Bailiff, Depart-
ment of Agriculture with effect from
1st July, 1958, is hereby cancelled.

AUTHORITY UNDER SECTION 6 (1)
OF THE QUARANTINE ORDINANCE,
1945, No. 31 OF 1945.

WHEREAS in my opinion an emergency
exists and it is expedient that special
measures be taken during the continu-
ance of the emergency for the preven-
tion of the spread of infection by means
of persons' leaving the Colony without
being inoculated against infection: AND
WHEREAS it is necessary that ORDERS
and DIRECTIONS be made and given:
Now TIEREFORE by virtue of the powers
vested in me by section 6 subsection (1)
of the Quarantine Ordinance, 1945,
No. 31 of 1945 and amendments thereto,
IT Is HEREBY ordered and directed as
follows:-
1. This Order may be cited as the
Quarantine (Emigrant Vaccination)
Order, 1958 and shall come into force
on the 24th day of July, 1958 and shall
remain in force for one month unless
sooner cancelled.
2. In this Order-
"Valid certificate" means an inter-
nationally valid certificate of
vaccination or revaccination
against Small pox.
"Immigration Authority or Au-
thorities" means an Immigration

3. No person who has not been ac'ae
cinated against Small pox anid who is
not in possession 'ofa 'valid ceitificate
shall be permitted to leave the 'Colony;
by the Immigration Atithorities.
4. It shall be lawful f6r the'Immi-'
gration Authorities to demand from
every person about to leave the Colony
and, in any event, before he leaves the
Colony, the production of a'valid'certi-
ficate for inspection.
5. It shall be the duty of every per-
son about 'to leave the Colony and be-
fore leaving the Colony to produce a
valid certificate to the Immigration
Authorities for inspection' whether tlie
same be demanded or not.
6. Any shipowner, or ship 'agent or
travel agent who' contracts to take or
cause td be taken from the Colony any
person who has not a valid certificate in
his ossessid6 shall 'b deemed to have
wilfully contravened the provisions of
this Order unless he has reason to be-
lieve or did believe (the proof whereof


nhall'h-b upon him) that such person was
in posmesidhi of a valid certificate.
7. A valid eertifirate must show that
the persoIn i gained therein has been vac-
'iinated within n three tears beginning
eight t iday after the date of vacciliation
in the case of'a-primary vaccination and
from the date of revaccination' in all
other' eases.
8. Any member of the. Police Force
may arrest without Warrant any per-
s6n' attempting to, leave the Colony in
contravention of the provisions of this
Order.
9. Any person' who contravenes the
provisions of this Order or who ob-
structs the Immigration Authorities in
the performance of their duty uider
this Order shall'be guilty of'an offence
and on Summary conviction shall be
liable to a fine not exceeding $120.00 or
'to imprisonment with or without hard
labour for a term not exceeding one
month.
