Particulars of the post of District
Medical Officer, No. 6. District, now 'va-
cant in the Colony of Antigua.
1. Duties of post. To attend certain
categories of patients, e.g. children
of labourers, free of charge, to at-
tend certain clinics, and such other
duties as the Governor may allot
to him.
2. Qualifications required by holder, of
post. A registrable Aritish qualifi-
cation.
3. Salary of post. The salary scale of.
"ihe post is $3 43 x ,1' 1 -- :,')2 per
annurnm.
4.. Allowances and other circumstances
affecting value of po'si (e.g. trans-
port allowance). Transport allow-
ance at the rate of $672.92 per an-
num.
5. Whether post is pensionable or not.
The post is pensionable.
6. Quarters. Unfurnished quarters are
available.
7. Passages. Leave passage. Officers,
.receiving salaries of $2,880 per
annum and over but less than $4,320
per annum are eligible for a leave
passage grant at the rate of $13.50
in respect 'of each completed month
of resident service during the tour.
Officers receiving sa-iary of $4,320
and over but less than $5,760 per
annum are eligible for a leave pas-
sage grant of $20 in respect of each
completed month of resident ser-
vice during the tour.
8. Leave. Officers in receipt of sala-
ries of $3,168 and over are eligible
for vacation leave at the rate of 48;
days per annum. This leave may be
accumulable up to a maximum of
183 days.
Sick leave may be granted with
full salary up to a maximum of
6 months in any period of one year.
9. Income Tax. Income tax is charged
on net income after thq statutory al-
lowances have been granted. Rates'
at which tax is charged are set out;
in the Income Tax Ordinance No. 13
,of 1957. ,
10. Acts or Ordinances concerning

1947, as amended.

VACANCIES FOR LECTURERS.

Vacancies -"xst in the fields Of engin-

$3,696-$5,760 per annum, either pension-
able or on contract'for three years. Gov-
ernment furnished quarters will be pro-
vided at a rental of 12% of salary to a
maximum of $60 a month.. Fees for
teaching evening classes will be payable,
also gratuity at the rate of 221/2% of basic
salary where appointment is on contract.
Initial salary on contract appointment
for a, qualified candidate will be $4,272
per annum plus,one increment for each
year's experience, but more experienced
candidates with .qualifications over and
above those stated may be paid higher
salary to be negotiated. Candidates
over 40 years of age will normally be
appointed on contract which will be
renewable.

FOREIGN COMPENSATION (BULGA-
RIA) ORDER IN COUNCIL S.I.
No. 261 OF 1958.

The Public is hereby notified that the
Foreign Compensation (Bulgaria) Or-
der, 1958 which came ,into operation on
the 1st day of March, 1958 provides for
the distribution of compensation to be
paid by the Bulgarian Governme.t un-
der the terms of 'the Anglo-Bulgarian
Agreement of the 22nd of September,
1955, relating to the Settlement of Fin-
ancial Matters (Command 9625).
The Agreement provides for the pay-
ment by the Bulgarian Government to
Her Majesty's Government in the
United Kingdom of the sum of 400000:
in full and final settlement of (a) claims
by British nationals in respect of British
property, rights and interests affected
by certain specified Bulgarian measures,
of nationalisation -and expropriation;'
(b) claims arising out of Article 23 of the
Treaty of Peace with Bulgaria; and (c)
certain other'claims and debts and bank
balances.
The compensation is payable by the
Bulgarian Government in instalments
over a riinmber of ,years and will be dis-
tributed: at 'suitable intervals.
