DEPARTURE OF ADMINISTRATOR.
His Honour A. F. GILES, M.B.E., Administrator, St. Vincent, proceeded
to Trinidad by air at 8.20 a.m. to-day to attend the inauguration of the Federal
Legislature of The West Indies.
19th April, 1958.


No. 202.
ACTING ADMINISTRATOR.
Consequent on the departure of His Honour the Administrator, Mr. A. F.
GILES, M.B.E., to Trinidad, the Honourable B. F. DIAS, Crown Attorney,
to-day took the prescribed Oaths of Office and assumed the Administration of
the Government of St. Vincent.
19th April, 1958.

RESIGNATION.


Consequent on the appointment of the
Honourable E. A. C. HUGHES, to the
Federal Senate of The West Indies, His
Excellency the Governor has accepted
his resignation as a Member of the Exe-
cutive Council of St. Vincent with effect
from 12th April, 1958. His Honour the
Administrator has also accepted his
resignation from the Legislative Council
with effect from the same date.

A PROCLAMATION. -/

Administrator.
WHERm by section 7 of the Bank Holidays Ordinance, Cap. 161, it is enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time, by Pro-
clamation in the Gazette, to appoint a special day to be observed as a Bank
Holiday throughout the Colony:
Now THEREFORE I do, with the advice of the Executive Council, and pursuant
to the authority in me vetted by the said Ordinance, hereby appoint Thursday, the
1st day of May, 1958, to be observed as a Bank Holiday throughout the Colony.

GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Island of Saint Vincent at
the Government Office in the said Island this 17th day of April in the
year of Our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-eight and In
the Seventh year of the Reign of Her Majesty QUEEN ELIZABETH THE
SECOND.
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!
