IN THE MATTER OF THE LAND ACQUISITION ORDINANCE 1946
(No. 22 of 1946)
AND
IN THE MATTER OF THE ACQUISITION by the Governor-in-Council of a certain
parcel of land at Paget Farm in the Parish of the Grenadines for a public
purpose.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND.
(FIRST PUBLICATION.)
WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance 1946
(No. 23 of 1946) that if the Governor-in-Council considers that any Land should
be acquired for a public purpose he may cause a declaration to that effect to
be made:
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor-in-Council that the undermen-
tioned parcel of land should be acquired for a public purpose, to wit, the erection
thereon of a school building.
Now IT Is HEREBY DECLARED by His Excellency the Governor acting by and
with the advice of the Executive Council of the Colony of Saint Vincent that
upon the second Publication of this Notice in the Gazette all that parcel of land
at Paget Farm in the Island of Bequia in the Parish of the Grenadines, the
property of Ethel Ollivierre et alia being 46,914 square feet in area and bounded
on the North, East and West by the remaining lands of Ethel Ollivierre et alia
and on the South by a Public track along the sea coast, shall vest absolutely

AND IT Is HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that a plan bearing the
number Gr. 72 has been prepared by H. R. WASON, Licensed Land Surveyor
and can be inspected at all reasonable hours at the Lands and Surveys Office
of Kingstown in the said Colony.

STANDING FEDERATION
COMMITTEE.

Representatives and Advisers from
each unit territory of the West Indies
will attend the Third Meeting of the
Standing Federation Committee in
Trinidad beginning on Monday the 6th
May. The Meeting is expected to be
concluded by the 18th May.
2. At this Meeting, there will be fur-
ther discussion of several reports and
matters not completed at the second
Conference which was held in Jamaica
last January. These include confirmation
of amendments to the Constitution, the
Site of the Federal Capital Organisation
and Financial Planning.
3. The Meeting will be under the
Chairmanship of Sir Stephen Luke,
K.C.M.G., and Officers of the Pre-Federal
and Development and Welfare Organisa-
tions will attend.
4. The Government of British Hon-
duras has indicated that it will not be
sending any Representative to the Meet-
ing.
5. A Meeting of the Council of Min-
isters has also been arranged to take
place in Tobago on the 11th and 12th
May, and a separate agenda comprising
matters of economic planning and de-
velopment has been set for that occa-
sion..

The attention of persons who own the
types of vehicles mentioned above, Is
drawn to the provisions contained In
Regulations 18 and 19 and all amend-
ments thereto of the Motor Vehicles and


Road Traffic Regulations, 1940, whereby
no licence may be issued or renewed for
such vehicles unless the Inspector certi-
fies that the vehicle complies with all
the provisions of the Ordinance and of
these Regulations.

The Inspector of Motor Vehicles will
be available during the months of May
and June from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. except

SALE OF PETROLEUM.

The attention of the general public is
drawn to sections 15, 16 and 17 of the
Petroleum Ordinance No. 30 of 1956
which read as follows:-
15. (1) It shall not be lawful to
sell or keep for sale any petroleum
within the limits of the towns of
Kingstown or Georgetown or such
other places as the Governor-in-Coun-
cil may from time to time proclaim
except under a licence to be obtained
under this Ordinance.
(2) All petroleum kept for sale
shall be kept in a closed tank or other
vessel made of iron, zinc, tin, or other
uninflammable material.
16. It shall not be lawful to sell or
keep for sale crude or dangerous pe-
troleum except under a licence to be
obtained under this Ordinance.
17. Any person acting in contra-
vention of any of the provisions con-
tained in the two last preceding
sections shall be liable to a fine not
exceeding two hundred and forty
dollars or to imprisonment for six
months, and all crude petroleum,
petroleum, or dangerous petroleum in
respect of which any such offence has
