By virtue of Proclamations issued, with this Gazette
(S.R. & Os. No. 47 and No. 48), Tuesday, 27th December, 1955, and
Tuesday the 3rd January, 1956, being Bank Holidays, all Public
Offices will be closed on those days.

WHEREAS Christmas Day and the 26th December are Bank Holidays?
AND WHEREAS in this year Ch-istmas IDay falls on a Sunday:
AND WHEREAS it is desirable -hat the usual number of Bank Holidays should
not be curtailed by reason of this coincidence:
AND WHEREAS section 7 of th< Bank Holidays Ordinance provides that it shall
be lawful for the Governor in Cc ancil from time to time, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, to appoint a special day :o be observed as a Bank Holiday, either through-
out the whole Colony or in any part thereof.
Now THEREFORE I, by and with the advice of the Executive Council, and in
virtue of the provisions aforesai I, do hereby appoint the 27th day of December
in this year to be observed as a Bank Holiday throughout the Colony.

GIVEN under my.hand and the Public Seal of the Island of Saint Vincent at
the Government Office i.i the said Island this 16tk day of December in
the year of Our Lord Cne Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-five and
in the Fourth Year of the Reign of Her Majesty QUEEN ELIZABETH
THE SECOND.

WHEREAS the first and second days of'January are Bank Holidays:
AND WHEREAS the first day of January, 1956, falls: on a Sunday:
AND WHEREAg it is desirable .that the usual number of Bank Holidays should
not be curtailed by reason of this coincidence:
AND WHEREAS section 7 of the Bank Holidays Ordinance provides that it shall
be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, to appoint a special day to be observed as a Bank Holiday, either through-
