PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION AND POWER TO ENTER LAND UNDER'
SECTION 4 OF THE ABOVE ORDINANCE.

The Governor-in-Council is of the opinion that the lands described in the
sc-heaule hereto are likely to be required for a public purpose, to wit, the
accommodation of head-works, pipe lines, balancing tank and power station of the
HyaIo-elEctric generating system and any approach road.thereto, and that it is
necessary to make a preliminary survey or other investigation of the said lands.

SCHEDULE.
ALL THAT lot piece or parcel of land bordered and shaded in RED in six drawings
threctY numbered respectively C.H.E.2A, .E.2 CE.2B, C.H.E.2C, C.H.E.2D, C.H.E.2E,
and C.H.E.2F which may be seen at the Surveys Office in the Public Works
Department, Kingstown, together with such other land in the vicinity thereof as
the authorised officer may consider necessary for the furtherance of the above-
mentioned public purpose.

With reference to Government Notice No. 233 of 18th May, 1951, the
appointment of Mr. CHARLES F. RICHARDSON, Land Surveyor, as an Authorised
Officer under Section 2 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance, 1946 (No. 22 of
1946) is hereby cancelled.

APPOINTMENT OF AUTHORISED OFFICER.

In exercise of the powers vested in him by Section 2 of the Land Acquis-
ition Ordinance, 1946 No. 22 of 1946), the Governor has appointed and consti-
tuted Mr. GEORGE LAURENCE EARLE BARKER, Crown purveyor, St. Vincent. to-
fill the office of Authorised Officer under the above Ordinance.
Mr. BARKER will have and exercise within this Colony all the authority
and functions appertaining to the office of Authorised Officer in connection
with the Survey of the lands described in the Schedule to the Preliminary
Notification and Power to enter land published as Notice No. 304 in the
Government Gazette of 26th June, 1951, which are likely to be required for a
public purpose, namely, the accommodation of head-works. pipe-lines, balancing
tank, power station and all approach roads of the Hydro-electric generating
system.

Lederle Research Fellowship in Yaws.

Applications are invited from regis-
tered medical practitioners for the above
Fellowship, which is tenable for one year
at a salary of 800. The Fellow will work
under the direction of the Professor of


Pathology on the clinical, pathological-
and the rapentic aspects of Yaws, includ-
ing field work and animal experiments.
Travelling expenses both to and from Ja-
maica will be paid. The duties will begin
at a date to be arranged with the Profes-
sor of Pathology, from whom further par-
ticulars can be obtained.
Applications should be sent to the Reg-
istrar, University College of the West In-
dies, Mona, St. Andrew, Jamaica, B.W.I.
by July 14th, 1951.

stamps issued in St. Vincent in the
reign of His Majesty KING GEORGE the
Fifth and during the year 1937 to com-
memorate the Coronation of His Majesty
KING GEORGE the Sixth, will not be
valid, after 31st July, 1951, for the
payment of postage on stamp duties.

1951, No. 61

ARROWROOT (AMENDMENT) REGU NATIONS.

(Gazetted 26th June, 1951).

1. Short title. These Regulations may be cited as the Arrowroot
(Amendment) Regiulations 1951 and shall be construed and read as one. with the
Regulations made by the St. Vincent Co-Operative Arrowroot Association on the
14th day of October, 1933 and confirmed by the Governor-in-Council on the 25th
day of November, 1933 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations) and
all amendments thereto.

2. Regulation 9 of principal regulations amended. Regulation
9 of the principal Regulations is hereby amended by insertion of the following
paragraph at the end :
"All cotton or duck bags loaned by the Association for conveying arrowroot
starch to the warehouses of the Assoe;ation shall not be-pecked with more
"than 10Qb of arrowroot per bag; and any bag which is found to be
overpacked shall not be accepted at the warehouses of the Association
until the nett weight of each bag has been adjusted in accordance with
this Regulation."

Made by the St. Vincent Co-Operative Arrowroot Association under section 3U
of the Arrowroot Ordinance 1930 (No. 15 ,of 1930) as replaced by the Arrowroot
(Amendment) Ordinance, 1949 ('No. 7 of 1949) this 26th day of May, 1951.
