ANNOUNCEMENT.
BIRTH OP DAUGHTER TO HER ROYAL HIGHNESS.PRINCESS ELIZABETH,
DUCHESS OF EDINBURGH.
Her Royal Higliness Princess ELIZABETH, Duchess of Edinburgh, was
safely delivered of a Princess at 11.50 hours on 15th August. Her Royal
Highness and her daughter are both doing well.

The following telegram from His Excellency the Governor of the Wind-
ward Islands was addressed to the Secretary of State for the Colonies:-
On behalf of the Governments and people of the Windward Islards
and their dependencies, I beg to submit, with my humble duty. our warm
congratulations and good wishes io Her Royal Highness Princess ELIZABETH
and the Duke of Edinburgh on the occasion of the birth of their daughter."

POLICE NOTICE.

The following is published for general information:-
B1n3ls, singing processions and other holiday gatherings, in cele-
bration of the purpose for which the public holiday is given, will
be permitt'el in the town of Kilngstown and other toIwns on
Monday, 21st Aiugust, 1950, from 6 i.m to 6 p.m.
This notice does not nullify the provisions of Section 120 (2) of the Sum-
mary Conviction Offences Ordinance (1926) with regard to any nuisance caused
by noisy instruments, etc.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section 7 of the Bank Holidays Ordinance, Cap. 161, it is
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council from time to time,
by Proclamation in the Gazette, to appoint a special day to be observed as a
Bank Holiday throughout the Colony :

AND WHERHAAS I, by and with the advice of the Executive Council,
deem it fit and proper that Monday, the 21st day of August, 1950, should be
observed as a Bank Holiday throughout the Colony:

Now, I, by and with the advice aforesaid, do hereby appoint Monday,
the 21st day of Autgust, 1950, to be observed as a Bank Holiday throughout the
Colony.

GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Island of Saint Vincent
at Government Office this 17th day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and fifty, and in the Fourteenth Year of the reign of Hia
Majesty King GEORGE THE SIXTH.

GOD SAVE THE KING.
