SWINE FEVER VACCINE.

It is notified for general information
that 500 doses of Swine Fever Vaccine
have arrived in the Colony, and vaccina-
tions will be given by the staff of the
Agricultural Department at a charge of
84 cents per dose.
Applications for vaccination should
be made to the Agricultural Department
or to the Agricultural Officers in the
Districts.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance,
1946, (No. 22 of 1946), that if the Governor in Council considers that any
land should be acquired for a public purpose he may cause a declaration to
that effect to be made:
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor in councill that the
undermentioned lands should be acquired for a public purpose, that is to say,
the establishment of Water Supply Pipe Lire Routes for Kingstown and its
environs:
Now THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DECLARED by His Excellency the
Governor acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the
Colony of Saint Vincent, that upon the Second publication of this Declaration
in the Gazette, the undermentioned areas of land, owned by or in the posses-
sion of the respective persons set out in the Schedule hereto, all situate in the
parish of St. George, shall be acquired for the abovementioned purpose and
shall vest absolutely in the Crown:
AND IT IS HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that the plan
showing the abovementioned tracts of land has been drawn and prepared by
Mr. G. L. E. BARKER, Crown Surveyor, and may be inspected at all reason-
able hours at the Surveys Office in the town of Kingstown in the said Colony.

further notice the return of stocks
usually submitted monthly to the Con-
troller of Supplies by 12 o'clock noon
on the 2nd day of each month must
now be submitted bi-monthly, namely,
by 12 o'clock noon on the 2nd day and
on the 17th day of each month, the return
to contain stocks of the articles in Part
B of the First Schedule held by them
on the 1st and the 15th day of each
month respectively.

PUBLIC HEALTH.

NOTICE TO DAIRYMEN.

The attention of all dairymen and
milk vendors is called to the Prices
Control (Amendment No. 4) notice and
to the prices of different grades of milk.
For the purpose of grading of price
milk is divided into 2 groups viz: (a)
" Milk inspected by the Milk Sanitary
Inspector" and (b) Uninspected by
Milk Inspector".
"Inspected by the Milk Sanitary
Inspector" means (a) Milk produced by
cows kept in a cattle Byre constructed
to the satisfaction of the Sanitary
Authority and milked in a milking
shed or a section of the said Byre set
aside for the purpose. All milkers
must be medically examined and regis-
tered with the Sanitary Authority and
must be'provided with clean towels and
a satisfactory supply of water for
cleansing the cows before milking or
(b) milk produced from cows either
tethered on open pastures or pen patch-
es but the milk is drawn from them in
a satisfactory milking shed by med ically
examined dairymen registered with the
Sanitary Authority and provided with
clean towels and a satisfactory supply
of water for cleansing the cows before
milking.
"Uninspected by Milk Sanitary In-
spector" means milk from cows tethered
on the open pasture or on cow pens and
milked there. All dairyme.n must he
medically examined and registered with
the Sanitary Authority and he provided
with towels for dryiig the cow's nilders
after washing before c nimencing to
milk.
All utensils used by dairymen in the
dairy trade must be used exclusively
for that purpose and should le regnlar-
ly cleaned with hot water and soap and
water. In large dairies a snitahle
detergent such as washing soda should
be used.

THE DANGEROUS DRUGS (APPLICATION) ORDER, 1950.

(Gazetted 15th August, 1950).

WHEREAS by subsection (2) of section 13 of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance,
1937, (hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance) power is conferred upon
the Governor to declare by Order in Council that Part V of the principal Ordinance
shall apply to any drug cf whatever kind in the same manner as it applies to drugs
mentioned in subsection (1) of section 13 of the principal Ordinance if it appears
to the Governor in Council that the drug is or is likely to be productive, if
improperly used, or is capable of being converted into a substance'which is or is
likely to be productive, if improperly used, or ill effects substantially of the same
character or nature as or analogous to those produced by morphine or cocaine :
AND WHEREAS it appears to the Governor that the drugs specified in the
Schedule to this Order are productive, if improperly used, or are capable of being
converted into a substance which is or is likely to be productive, if improperly
used, of ill effects substantially of the same character or nature as or analogous to
those produced by morphine or cocaine :
Now THEREFORE, the Governor in pursuance of the power conferred upon him
by subsection (2) of section 13 of the principal Ordinance is pleased, by and with
the advice of the Executive Council, to order, and declare, and it is hereby ordered
and declared as follows :-
1. Part V of the principal Ordinance shall apply to the drugs specified in the
Schedule to this Order in the same manner as the said Part V applies to the drugs
mentioned in subsection (1) of section 13 of that Ordinance.
2. This Order may be cited as the Dangerous Drugs (Application) Order, 1950.

SCHEDULE.
Alphaprodine (a-4-Propinoxy-4-phenyl-l : 3-dimethyl-4-piperidine), its salts
and any preparation, admixture, extract or other substance containing any
proportion of alphaprodine.
Amidone (6-Dimethylamino-4: 4-diphenylheptan-3-one), its salts and any
preparation, admixture, extract or other substance containing any proportion of
amidone.
Betaprodine (B-4-Propionoxy-4-phenyl-l : 3-dimethyl-4piperindine), its salts
and any preparation, admixture, extract or other substance containing any
proportion of betaprodine.
Hydroxypethidine (Ethyl 4-m-hydroxyphenyl-l-methylpiperidine-4-carboxylate),
its salts and any preparation, admixture, extract or other substance containing

COLONIAL HOSPITAL (AMENDMENT NO. 2) RULES.


(Gazetted 15th August, 1950).


1. Short title. These Rules may be cited as the Colonial Hospital
(Amendment No. 2) Rules, 1950, and shall be read as one with the Colonial
Hospital Rules, 1943, (S.R. & 0. 1943, No. 55) (hereinafter referred to as the
principal Rules) and all amendments thereto.

2. Amendment of Schedule. The Note to the Schedule of the
principal Rules as replaced by the Colonial Hospital (Amendment) Rules, 1949,
(S.R. & 0. 1949, No. 58) is hereby revoked and replaced as follows :-
"Items 3 and 4 are payable to the Resident Surgeon.
Item 2 is payable to the Physician.
Items 5 and 6 are payable to the Anaesthetist.
Item 7 is payable to officer attending :
Provided that the fees in respect of the above items shall be payable through
the Colonial Treasurer, and in the case of items 3, 4 and 7, 25% of these fees
shall be deducted by the Colonial Treasurer and placed to General Revenue."

Ordinance (Cap. 114) this 4th day of August, 1950.
