SEXUAL AND PHYSICAL ABUSE RESOURCE CENTER

OUTREACH SERVICES COORDINATOR

The Outreach Coordinator is accountable to the Executive Director and is responsible for developing
and coordinating programs related to services at the Domestic Violence Center. These programs
include the Volunteer Program and Prevention Programs. In addition, the Outreach Coordinator
serves as a liaison to the counties we serve and works with programs within these four (4) counties
to develop programs that prevent domestic violence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Develop and implement appropriate programs for victims of domestic violence.

B. Develop and coordinate the volunteer program.

C. Provide a liaison between SPARC and the community on designated committees, task
forces and groups.

D. Develop and conduct community and professional education activities.

E. Identify and develop programs needed for growth in the outlying counties the center
serves.

F. Maintain records of center and outreach activates and statistics as required by the
funding sources.

G. Attend staff meetings, case review, and other meetings as assigned.

H. Participate in shelter activates as assigned.

I. Provide back-up shelter coverage as assigned.

J. Serve on community boards and committees as approved by the Executive Director.

K. Participate in activities and public relations to develop program resources as assigned.

L. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

RESPONSIBLE TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in Psychology, Marketing, Public Relations and/or
Education and experience working with the Public Awareness
of the issues relating to Domestic Violence. Good communicator,
writing skills and public relations ability.






RELIEF ASSISTANT
(PRN) POSITION

The Relief Assistant is accountable to both the Shelter Services
Coordinator and the Executive Director and is responsible for
general shelter supervision and program implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES


1. SHELTER SUPERVISION

A. Provide shelter security coverage, including operating the
security system, providing curfew checks, and implementing
other shelter security measures as contained in the policies
and procedures manual.

B. Provide general shelter coverage, including enforcing house
rules, admitting and discharging residents, managing the
crisis line, and providing crisis counseling to residents

C. Facilitate appropriate resident meetings.

D. Assist with the development of shelter house rules.

2. PROGRAMMATIC

A. Participate in the development and implementation of various
shelter programs, to include recreational programs,
parenting programs, and so on.

3. OTHER

A. Maintain shelter and client records.

B. Maintain shelter statistics as required by the Board of
Directors and funding sources.

C. Attend staff meeting, case review, and other meetings, as
required or assigned.

D. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
or Shelter Services Coordinator.

E. Provide scheduled and/or emergency shelter coverage on day
shift, afternoon shift, or midnight shift.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The Administrative Assistant is accountable to the Executive Director and is responsible for a variety
of clerical, fiscal and office management duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. CLERICAL

A. Type, file and distribute correspondence for staff and Board Members.

B. Maintain agency mailing list.

C. Take minutes of agency and Board meetings.

D. Compose appropriate letters to donors, job applicants, and so on as required.

2. OFFICE MANAGEMENT

A. Maintain agency files, including confidential information such as personnel files.

B. Maintain upkeep on office and shelter equipment.

C. Maintain necessary office supplies.

D. Oversee service contracts.

E. Compile statistics for monthly and quarterly reports.

3. BOARD MANAGEMENT

A. Schedule Board meetings, including notifying Board members of meeting times and places
and preparing Board packets.

B. Maintain update lists of Board members, committee members, and so on.







4. FISCAL

A. Maintain day to day financial records for the agency.

B. Prepare payable and payroll, including writing of checks.

C. Prepare and provide required documentation regarding payroll, annual leave, deposits,
petty cash, purchase orders, check requests, and coding expenditures for grants and
programs.

D. Assist with audit preparation and documentation.

5. OTHER

A. Provide resident screening and intake assessments as needed.

B. Attend staff meeting and other meetings as assigned.

C. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.


RESPONSIBLE TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in management or related field and two year's
experience. Appropriate experience may substitute for advanced
degree.

CASE MANAGER

The Case Manager is responsible for counseling and case management relative to shelter clients
and is accountable to the Executive Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Conduct intake assessments of clients entering the shelter.

B. Conduct psychosocial assessment of clients who have entered the shelter, including the
identification of financial, educational, social and other needs for the women and their
children.

C. Assist residents with the development of goals and action steps.

D. Provide referral, advocacy, and general case management assistance relative to legal,
financial, medical, mental health, educational, employment, and other social service needs for
women residents and their children.

E. Facilitate various counseling, support, parenting, and skills groups.

F. Maintain case records and files.

CLIENT SERVICES COORDINATOR

The Client Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing case management activities, the
children's program and support groups and is accountable to the Executive Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Coordinate intake and psychosocial assessments of clients entering the shelter.

B. Coordinate the referral, advocacy, and general case management assistance relative to
legal, financial, medial, mental health, educational, employment, and other social service
needs for residents and their children.

C. Facilitate the provision of various counseling, support, parenting and skills groups within
the shelter.

D. Provide supervision to the out-of-shelter support group providers and out-of-shelter
advocacy program.

E. Develop the procedure for maintaining case records and files.

F. Work in conjunction with Shelter Services Coordinator to maintain services at the shelter.

G. Establish the procedure for the collection of statistics and collate the statistics relative to
case management activities.

H. Participate in community and professional education programs.

I. Provide back-up shelter coverage.

J. Participate in volunteer training in cooperation with the Executive Director.

K. Recruit, select and Supervise the practicum and interns within the program.

L. Attend staff meetings, case review, and other meetings as assigned.

M. Coordinate and participate in special projects and programs as assigned.

Plans for and administers SPARC's program(s)/service(s) in accordance with SPARC's stated

resources of SPARC; operates under the general direction of SPARC's Board of Directors.

INTERNAL:
ADMINISTRATION
Overseeing the daily activities of SPARC.

Employing, evaluating, disciplining, terminating, or delegation thereof, for all personnel.

Recommending to SPARC's Board or assisting with the formulation of policies for the

Serving as the community/county liaison; establishing linkages/networks for the
development of community/county program(s)/service(s).

RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
Developing and recommending to SPARC's Board long and short range plans for the
growth and development of SPARC's program(s)/service(s). Keeping
the Board informed of trends and or policy shifts related to SPARC's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS: B.A. or B.S. degree in administration, fiscal or personnel management
or lated field, masters degree preferred.

Education or work experience which demonstrated knowledge/skills in
social service and/or non profit agency areas.

LEAD SHELTER ASSISTANT

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. VOLUNTEER SUPERVISION

A. Help with volunteer interviews and training as requested.

B. Acts as liaison between staff and volunteers.

C. Supervise volunteers in conjunction with client & shelter services coordinators.

D. Schedule and facilitate regular monthly meeting with volunteers to problem solve and
to provide on going support and training.

The Shelter Services Coordinator is Accountable to the Executive Director and
is responsible for shelter supervisors and crisis line coverage.


Responsibilities

1. Recruit and hire applicants for shelter staff.

2. Train, supervise, and evaluate Shelter Assistants and Relief Shelter Assistants.

3. Prepare and maintain schedules for shelter and crisis line coverage by shelter personnel
and volunteers.

4. Develop and provide resident and volunteer orientation programs.

5. Develop and implement shelter security procedures, including house checks, curfews and
other appropriate procedures.

6. Assist with the development of policies and procedures relative to effective shelter
management.

7. Provide admission screening for residents.

8. Provide crisis line coverage as well as crisis intervention and support for residents.

9. Coordinate the compilation of shelter statistics as required by the Board of Directors and
funding sources (HRS).

10. Attend staff meetings, case review and other meetings as assigned.

11. Manage shelter physical plant by arranging for appropriate maintenance repair of the
shelter, as well as acquisition of appropriate equipment.

12. Manage resident services by maintaining, supervising and distributing clothing, personal
care items, bus tokens, etc.

13. Assist with the development of and supervise the enforcement of house rules.

14. Supervise and coordinate inter/practicum experiences for students with staff.








15. Act as community liaison to develop program resources.

16. Responsible for back-up as assigned.

17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

VICTIM ADVOCATE

The Victim Advocate will be assigned to the Domestic Violence Prevention Partnership Grant.
The advocate will work within the guidelines of the grant and in coordination with Gainesville
Police Department. The State Attorney's office and the community and it's victims of domestic
violence.

RESPONSIBILITIES


1. To develop a procedure for working with victims of domestic violence that are referred by
law enforcement.

2. Assist and advise victims of the continuum of services available within the circuit to help
in the furthering of the case.

3. To develop with the Partnership a coordinated response to domestic violence crimes.

4. To assist in designing and maintaining the automated data system for use by all partners.

5. Be available and on-call as needed and will wear a pager to assist in the prompt response
to domestic violence calls.

6. Conduct group counseling on weekly basis.

7. Maintain records as needed.

8. Provide community education presentations in-service education and professional training
as necessary.

9. Recruit and train volunteers.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
