PREFACE



This Edition of the Laws of Antigua was prepared under the authority of
the Revised Edition of the Laws Ordinance, 1959, and contains the laws in force
in the Colony on the 2nd day of January, 1962.

I wish to record my appreciation of the invaluable assistance given to me
by Mr. H. J. Elwin and Mrs. S. White in the preparation of this Edition.

The Chronological Table sets forth in Part I the titles of all Antigua Laws
declared to be in force by the Statute Law Revision Ordinance, 1919 (No. 2
of 1919) and of all Laws subsequently enacted up to 2nd January, 1962.

Part II of the Table contains the Federal Acts of the former Colony of the
Leeward Islands, the majority of which were applied to the Colony of Antigua
by the Adaptation of Laws Regulations, 1956 (No. 22 of 1956), the Enactment
(Leeward Islands Acts) Ordinance, 1956 (No. 32 of 1956) (as amended by
Ordinance No. 11 of 1961), and the Pensions Laws (Adaptation) Regulations,
1956 (S.R.O. (L.I.) 1956 No. 23).
