to Barbuda from the 18th April, 1955,
for the duration of such visit.

NOTICE TS HEREBY given that
in pursuance of Rules made by the
Chief Justice under Section 16 of the
Windward Islands and Leeward Is-
lands Courts Order in Council, 1939,
on the 16th day of October, 1941, as
amended, the Honourable the Puisne
Judge selected for the sitting of the
Court in the Antigua Circuit has
appointed the undermentioned day
on which the ensuing Circuit shall
sit in the Presidency, that is to say:-
On Tuesday the 10th day of May,
1955, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon.

CITY RATE FOR 1955.
Notice is hereby given that the
City Rate Assessment List for 1955
has been posted on the outer door of
the Treasury and at the Central
Board of Health Office.
The rate fixed on properties north
of the houses bordering on Alfred
Peters Street under an assessed
annual rental value of $48.00 is 5%
and of $48.00 and over 71%. The
rate on all other property under an
assessed annual rental value of $48.00
is 10% and of $48.00 and over 15%.
Any person who objects to any
assessment in the said list must lodge
his objection in writing with the
Secretary, Central Board of Health
within fourteen days after the date
of this notice.

4. In no case was the amount deposited by an unsuccessful candidate forfeited to the Crown in accordance
with the provisions of section 53 (1) of the above-mentioned Ordinance,

5. There was one complaint from the Returning Officer of the Windward Electoral District about the Poll
Clerk Mr. E. Williams who was stationed at Long Ground. After investigations it was found that there was some
misunderstanding in the whole matter which might have arisen from me. I understood that the Poll Clerk's
behaviour was not good enough. It seems to be a usual habit of the officer.

6. The voting was conducted in an orderly manner at the Plymouth Polling Station. I visited all other
Polling Stations in the island. The Bethel Polling Station was nbt of entire satisfaction. I think it was due to
illiteracy and labour arguments more than anything else. No incidents have been reported by the Police.

ORERI OF THE GOVERNOR DATED APRIL 12, 1955, UNDER ARTICLE 13
OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS LETTERS PATENT, 1953, DECLARING
THAT TIlE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE PRESIDENCY OF ANTIGUA
ESTABLISHED BY THE EXISTING LETTERS PATENT SHALL CEASE
TO EXIST.

1. SHOUT TIrLE. This Order may be cited as the Antigua
Executive Cwocil (Cessation) Order, 1955.

2. DATE OF CESSATION OF EXISTENCE OF EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.
From the 23rd lay of April, 1955 the Executive Council in the Presi-
dency of Antigua established under the Existing Letters Patent, that
is to say:-
Letters Patent passed under the Great Seal of the Realm
constituting the Office of Governor and Commander in Chief of the
Leeward Islands and dated the seventeenth day of November, 1936.
Letters Patent passed under the Great Seal of the Realm dated
the twenty-eight day of December, 1939, amending the aforesaid
Letters Patent of the seventeenth day of November, 1936.
Letters Patent passed under the Great Seal of the Realm dated
the twelfth day of July, 1943, amending the aforesaid Letters
Patent of the seventeenth day of November, 1936.

Letters Patent passed under the Great Seal of the Realm dated
the fifteenth day of January, 1951, amending the aforesaid Letters
Patent of the seventeenth day of November, 1936,

shall cease to be the Executive Council of the said Presidency.
