been pleased to appoint Mr. J. OLIVER
DAVIS to be a Commissioner of the
City of St. John for 5 period of one
year from the 10th June, 1954.

It is notified for general informa-
tion that, with effect from the 1st
July, 1954, fees will be charged for
the services of subordinate police
officers and constables at private
gatherings such as dances, inside
cinemas, race meetings, games, etc.,
or in a ship at the request of the cap-
tain or agent, in accordance with the
following schedule:-

In respect of each subordinate
officer or constable:-

48 cents for the first
hour or part thereof
and 24 cents for each

2. Persons applying for the ser-
vices of subordinate police officers or
constables to perform duties at private
functions as above should state the
number of men required and the
approximate period for which their
services will be required. An amount
to cover the fees will be required to
be paid in advance. The full amount
of the fees will be paid to the subordi-
nate police officers and constables
performing the duty.

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES.
The Inspector of Weights and
Measures shall attend for the pur-
pose of examining, weighing and
stamping Weights and Measures and
Weighing Instruments at the follow-
ing times and places:-

(1) At the Police Station, Parham,
on Tuesday the 1st June, from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m.

(2) At the Police Station, Willikies,
on Friday the 4th June, from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m.


(3) At the Police Station, Bolans,
on Tuesday the Sth June, from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
(4) At the Police Station, All
Saints, on Friday the 11th June, from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(5) In the City of St. John at the
Police Station on every day except
Saturday and Sundays during the
the 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th
June from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Provided that should any of the
days prescribed above for the Inspec-
tor's attendance at Parham, Willikies,
Bolans and All Saints fall on a Bank
Holiday, the Inspector shall attend on
the following day instead.

Order made by the Competent Authority for the Presidency of Antigua under Regulation 50
of the Defence Regulations, 1939, as having effect by virtue of the Supplies and Services
(Transitional Powers) Act, 1945, the Supplies and Services (Transitional Powers) (Colonies
etc.) Order in Council, 1946, (Imp.) the Supplies and Services (Transitional Powers)
Order. 1946, and the Supplies and Services Continuance Order, 1952.

DEFENCE REGULATIONS, 1939.

1. Short Title. This Order may be cited as the Control of Prices (Amendrnen4 No. 1)
Order, 1954, and shall be read together with the Control of Prices Order, 1944 (No. 9 of 1944), as
amended, hereinafter referred to as the Principal Order.

2. Amendment. List A of Part I of the Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby
amended by the deletion of item 6 and the substitution therefore of the item bearing a similar number as
set out in the Schedule hereto.

ANTIGUA.

Control of Imports and Exports

Notice No. 2 of 1954
TENDER FOR FLOUR
Tenders are invited for the supply of 15,000 half bags of 100 lb each E grade flour from
Local Commission Agents of Canadian Flour Mills. Quotations should be C.I.F. Antigua and should
include agents commission. Tenders should indicate whether they would be prepared to accept any
proportion of the 15,000 bags say 5,000 bags and if so at what price.
2. The E grade flour must be milled solely from Canadian Hard Spring Wheat not
lower in grade than No. 3 northern and must be of the following minimum standard:-
Maximum moisture ... 14s00%
Maximum ash ... 52 %
Minimum protein ... 12*00
All flour to be enriched in accordance with the following:-
Minimum. Maximum.
Thiamine 2-0 2'5 milligrams for each lb. flour
Riboflavine 1-2 1-5 ,, ,, ,
Niacine 16-0 20-0 ,, ,, ,
Iron 13.0 16-5 ,,,
With Calcium Car-

The name of the miller, analysis of the flour, the enrichment standard and brand name
should be stated in the tender. Chemist's certificate showing analysis of the flour, enrichment standard
and duly notarised must accompany documents. The Supply Officer however, exercises the right to
arrange for samples to be drawn and analysed on his behalf.
Shipping documents must include date of shipment of all flour and must indicate that it is
enriched and "Vitamin Enriched Flour" must be stencilled on each bag.
3. Flour to be loaded at Montreal, Halifax or St. John and shipped at rate of 5,000 half
bags of 100 lb each month commencing early August 1954 and ending in October 1954. A notice of
the award will be made and the price accepted by Governmenc.
4. Tenders should be in a sealed enveloped marked Tenders for flour and should be
addressed to His Honour the Administrator and should reach the Administrator's Office not later than.
4 p.m. on 30th June, 1954.
5. Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
