M.B.E., of the Colonial Office has
succeeded Mr. J. FLETCHER-COOKE
as Counsellor (Colonial Affairs) with
the Permanent United Kingdom Dele-
gation to the United Nations in New
York on the departure of Mr.
FLETCHER-(OOKE to take up an
appointment as Colonial Secretary,
Cyprus.

appoint the Hon. W. E. BASSETT,
M.B.E., Agricultural Superintendent,
Montserrat, to act as Commissioner

WORTH Ross, Commissioner of Mont-
serrat, will be attending a meeting of
the Federal Executive Council of the
Leeward Islands in Antigua.

NOTICE is hereby given that a
certified copy of a draft resolution
for the preparation of a scheme for
development of the area herein des-
cribed will be open for inspection at
the office of the Central Authority,
Church Lane, St. John's, between the
hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily
(except on Thursdays and Saturdays
when the hours will be 10 a.m. to
11.30 a.m.)
Any representations or objections
thereto should be sent in writing to
the Secretary and Executive Officer,
Central Authority, Church Lane, St.
John's, within thirty days from the
date of this notice.

TENDERS.


Tenders are invited for the lease of
all that piece of parcel or land on the
Botanic Station Road in the City of
St. John in the island of Antigua,
containing an area of approximately
one acre and bounded on the north
by Crown lands, on the South by


Crown lands, on the East by Crown
lands and on the West by the public
road.

(1) To hold the premises for the
term of ninety-nine years;

(2) To bear, pay and discharge
all future rates, taxes and assess-
rmn'ts, duties, impositions, out-
goings and burdens whatsoever
assessed, charged or imposed upon
the premises or upon the owner
or occupier thereof;

(3) To erect upon the premises
to the satisfaction of Government
a building to be used as a cinema,
theatre or auditorium to the value
of not less than 1500;

(4) Not to erect any other build-
ings or to make any additions
except with the approval of Gov-
ernment.

Tenders, which should include the
amount to be paid as premium during
the first year of lease and the rate of
annual rental thereafter, should lie
addressed to the Administrator of
Antigua in a s-aled envelope marked

Administrator's Office by 12 midday
on Saturday 24th March, 1951.

quantity of cotton seed (600 tons more
or less) exclusive ,f seed retained for
planting purposes, which derive from
the crop of seed cotton now being
handled by the Marketing Officer,
Antigua.

Tenders should state clearly wheth-
er the offer is being made ex-ginnery
f.o 5. St. Johns Harbour, or c.i.f. etc.
Other things being equal tenders ex-
ginnery will be preferred.

The successful applicant will be
required to take delivery as soon as
and at the rate at which the seed is
supplied by the Marketing Officer.

Government does not bind itself
to accept the highest or any tender,

in time to reach him on or before
29th March, 1951.

Vacant Post of Inspector
of Schools, St. Lucia.


Applications are invited fir the
post of INSPECTOR OF t SCHOOLS;
EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, ST.
LUCIA.

The applicant (who should possess
graduate qualifications, preferably)
should be a trained Teacher and
should have wide experience of work
in Primary Schools.

The post is pensionable and carries
emoluments in the scale of $1,920 to
$2,400 per annum by annual incre-
ments of $96, plus a Cost of living
Bonus at the rate of $192 per annum.

Travelling and Subsistence allow-
ances will be paid in accordance with
the rates prescribed by local regula-
tions.

The duties of the post will Ie such
as are assigned by ihe Education
Officer, and the holder will 1), subject
to the Colonial Regulations and such
other local orders as are in force.

The Inspector of Schools will be
required to act as Education Officer
should the necessity arise.
