The Governor announces with re-
gret the death of Mr. THOMAS
MITCHISON PETERS on the 29th
May, 1950.
Mr. PETERS served as an Elected
Member of the Legislative Council of
Montserrat from the year 1946 and
also served for a short period in 1947
as a Member of the General Legislative
Council of the Leeward Islands.

His Excellency has conveyed to his
"widow an expression of his deepest
sympathy.

STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS.
1950, No. 13.


THE PASSPORT VISA (EXEMPTION) ORDER, 1950, DATED MAY
30, 1950, MADE BY THE GOVERNOR UNDER SUBSECTION (2)
OF SECTION 12 OF THE IMMIGRATION AND PASSPORT ACT,
1945 (No. 7/1945).

1. .Short Title. This Order may be cited as the Pass-
port Visa (Exemption) Order, 1950.

2. Visa Exemption. Aliens being subjects of the
countries mentioned in the Schedule to this Order landing in the
Colony from any place beyond the Colony and in possession of
a valid passport issued to them by the proper authority of their
country of nationality shall be exempt from the provision of
subsection (1) of section 12 of the Immigration and Passport
Act, 1945, requiring passports of aliens to be visaed by a
British Consular Officer or other person duly so authorised.

3. Duration. This Order shall continue in force until
revoked either in whole or in part by Order of the Governor.
