ROSEAU TOWN COUNCIL

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS under Section 89 of the
Roseau Town Council Ordinance (No.
23 of 1937) it is ordained that the
Roseau Town Council shall twice in each
year not later than the 31st day of Janu-
ary and the 31st day of July, by Resolu-
tion, declare that a rate not exceeding
one and one quarter per cent on the values
(as assessed under the said Ordinance) ol
all houses and lots of land in the Town
of Roseau shall be leviable as Land and
House rate for the current year.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Roseau Town
Council this 16th day of September, 1953,
that a rate of one per cent shall be levied on
the values (as assessed under the said Ordi-
nance) of all houses and lots of land in the
Town of Roseau for the current year.

AGRICULTURAL EXHIBITION NOTICE
At a meeting of the Ceitral Exhibition Committee, it was decided that the six
Caps for competition at the forthcoming Exhibition be allotted to the undermen
tined classes.
Class A. Livestock 1 cow milchh)
Class A. Livestock -- 'Poultri
Class D. Citrus Fruit
Class G, Manufactured Products

Class K. Schools only
Rules Governing Award of Cups.
1. Persons winning a Cup will have a first lien on it, but in order for the
Cup to become their property, it must be won by the same person twi:e in suc-
ccssion at the Central Exhibition to be held in Roseau.
2. Any cup won will be presented Co the winner who will bephotographed
with the cup and the photograph affixed on tlh- Certificate of Award.
3. The Cup is to be returned immediately afterwards to the Department
of agriculture t) be put in a public place (possibly the Public Libra3 ) and a Prize
Roll with the winner's name and address will be set up.
4. It is hoped that prize winners will see the merits of these rules as we
cannot return to the public for Cups every time we hold an exh hition It is up to
the winners to maintain the standard set and win the Cup outright a second time.

situate in the Parish of St. Joseph in the Island of Dominica, containing 200
acres I rood is unoccupied since 1914, and there is no person h .ving title
thereto, whereby the said parcel of land ought to be vested in Us, that
proce dings will be taken to have the said parcel of land vested in U, at a
sitting of the Supreme Cour-t to be holden at Roseau in the Colony of
Dominica in the month of April, 1954.
All persons claiming an interest in such land, shall within one week
from the date of the last publication of this sumnons in the Gazette (such
summons shall be published during a period of six months) file on appear-
ance, either in person or by Slicit)r in the office of the Registrar, and
shall, within one month from the date of appearance, lodge in the sai
office a written claim containing a statement of the reasons on which the
same is founded: and you are hereby further warned that if- you fail to
appear at the said Court to be holden as aforesaid the said proceedings will
be heard and taken without you.

to be hereunto affixed at Roseau this 5th day of June, 1953.

of section 11A of the Bank Holidays Act (Cap. 114).
(Gzetted 24th September, 1953)
1. This Order may be cited as the
BANK HOLIDAYS (TAVERNS)
(NO. 2) ORDER, 1953. short title
2. Premises in respect of which a Tavern Licence opening of
has been taken out under the provisions of the Liquor ''aver
Licences Ordinance, 1938, (No. 14 of 1938) may be kept
open on Bank Holidays for the sale of liquor for con-
sumption on the premises from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
3. This Order shall extend to those parts of the Extont ,.f
